The POCO X8 Pro Max is the stronger fit if you want a larger screen, a much higher-capacity battery and faster wired charging. Nothing Phone (3) is the more camera-flexible choice on paper, with a dedicated 3× optical telephoto lens, and it adds wireless charging and Nothing’s Glyph design. There is no single winner: compare current prices for the same storage tier in your market, then choose by the features you will use most.

How the display and performance compare
POCO gives you more screen
At 6.83 inches, the POCO panel is physically larger than the Phone (3)’s 6.67-inch screen. Both are specified at 120Hz and in the 1.5K class. The size difference may suit video, games and large text, but screen preference is personal; the specifications alone do not establish which panel looks better.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Chipset specifications favor POCO’s performance proposition
POCO lists the Dimensity 9500s on a 3nm process, while Phone (3) uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Those labels suggest different performance tiers, but they are not a direct, controlled comparison of speed, sustained performance or gaming. Android Central noted performance and thermal limits during demanding testing of Phone (3); this is that reviewer’s finding, not a head-to-head test against the POCO.

Camera differences: optical zoom versus a simpler rear setup
Phone (3) has a dedicated 50MP 3× optical telephoto camera with OIS, alongside its 50MP main and 50MP ultrawide cameras. That gives it the more versatile stated rear-camera hardware, especially for subjects that benefit from optical reach. POCO’s listed rear system pairs a 50MP OIS main camera with an 8MP ultrawide and does not list a telephoto camera.
For selfies, Phone (3) lists a 50MP front camera against POCO’s 20MP front camera. Megapixel counts describe resolution, not the overall quality of photos or video; they do not establish which phone takes better pictures. TechRadar notes camera limitations in its POCO review, but that judgment should not be treated as a direct comparison with Phone (3).

Battery, charging and longevity claims
POCO’s official global specifications list an 8,500mAh typical battery and 100W HyperCharge. Phone (3)’s battery is listed as 5,150mAh in most regions and 5,500mAh in India; it supports 65W wired and 15W wireless charging. The regional difference matters when comparing capacity. On stated capacity and wired charging rate, POCO has the advantage; Phone (3) is the option here with wireless charging.

POCO also claims the battery retains at least 80% capacity after 1,600 charge cycles. That is a manufacturer claim based on laboratory testing and usage qualifications, not a guarantee of how long an individual phone’s battery will last (POCO product page).
