What does the price gap buy in performance?
Nothing identifies Phone (3) as using the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and Phone (4a) Pro as using the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Those chip names establish the hardware difference, but do not by themselves quantify everyday speed, gaming performance or battery efficiency. No model-specific independent performance testing is established here, so a claim that one is faster by a particular amount would go beyond the available evidence.
How do the camera systems compare?
Phone (3): four 50 MP cameras
Nothing describes Phone (3) as having four 50 MP cameras and also highlights its Glyph Interface and Essential Search. Nothing’s Phone (3) product page identifies the camera count and resolution, but those figures alone do not prove how the cameras perform in different lighting or which phone takes better photographs.

Phone (4a) Pro: periscope zoom hardware
Nothing specifies a 50 MP OIS main camera and a 50 MP OIS periscope camera within the 4a Pro’s three-camera system. The company advertises 3.5x optical zoom and up to 140x ultra zoom. The optical zoom figure describes the periscope camera’s zoom capability; the 140x maximum is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measure of image quality at that magnification. Megapixel counts and maximum zoom claims are not substitutes for comparable photo tests.
Which phone suits which buyer?
- Consider Phone (3) if you specifically want its Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform, four-camera setup, Glyph Interface or Essential Search, and its available U.S. storage configurations fit your needs.
- Consider Phone (4a) Pro if you value its listed 6.83-inch 144 Hz display, 50 W charging specification, or optical-stabilized periscope camera, and the configuration available in your market is suitable.
- Do not choose on the basis of camera counts or chip names alone. The available specifications do not establish which phone has better real-world photos or a particular performance advantage.
What software support is listed for Phone (4a) Pro?
Nothing says the Phone (4a) Pro runs Nothing OS based on Android 16 and promises three years of OS updates and six years of security updates.
