Which phone has the better performance specifications?
The listed Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in the Phone (3) is a higher chipset tier than the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 listed for the Phone (4b). That makes the Phone (3) the stronger choice on chipset specifications for buyers who prioritize processing headroom. No matched, controlled benchmark or direct performance test is established here, so the difference should not be translated into a specific speed or gaming advantage.
Display: larger on the 4b, sharper on the 3
The Phone (4b) has the larger listed diagonal at 6.77 inches, compared with 6.67 inches for the Phone (3). Both are listed at 120 Hz. The Phone (3), however, has the higher listed resolution—1260 × 2800 versus 1080 × 2344—so the 4b’s larger screen does not mean it has more pixels. Choose according to whether screen size or resolution matters more to you.

Camera hardware and zoom
The Phone (3) offers more listed rear-camera flexibility: a main camera, ultrawide and a periscope telephoto camera, each listed at 50 MP, with up to 3× optical zoom on the periscope. The Phone (4b) is listed with a 50 MP main and an 8 MP ultrawide, without a telephoto camera in the comparison. The listed front cameras are 50 MP on the Phone (3) and 16 MP on the 4b. These are hardware specifications, not evidence that one phone produces better photos in real-world use.
Nothing’s official Phone (4b) product page independently confirms a 50 MP main camera and 4K video recording. Its accessible product information also shows an 8 GB + 128 GB option, but does not provide a complete regional specification sheet in the captured text.

Battery and charging: check the 4b specification before buying
The battery-capacity figures are inconsistent across the available sources: 91mobiles lists 6,000 mAh for the Phone (4b), while Android Central’s July 7, 2026 report gives 5,200 mAh. The sources do not establish which figure applies to the buyer’s regional model, so confirm the official specification for the exact market before treating capacity as a deciding factor. The Phone (3) is listed at 5,150 mAh by 91mobiles. Battery capacity alone does not establish real-world battery life.
For wired charging, 91mobiles lists 65 W for the Phone (3) and 33 W for the Phone (4b). Nothing Support says a full Phone (4b) charge takes approximately 86 minutes with the official Nothing charger under its stated conditions. It advises using a PPS protocol charger for optimal charging, with room temperature and the screen off among its recommended conditions. See Nothing Support’s Phone (4b) charging guidance for the qualification and further details.

Software support claims need more care than a simple spec-table comparison. Android Central reported that Nothing promised the Phone (4b) three years of Android OS updates and six years of security patches. 91mobiles lists five years of OS updates and seven years of security updates for the Phone (3), but that listing is not established here as Nothing’s official policy. Check Nothing’s current official support terms for both models and your region before making update longevity decisive.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the Phone (3) if
- You want the higher-tier chipset listed for these models.
- You value a rear telephoto camera with up to 3× optical zoom, alongside main and ultrawide cameras.
- You want the higher-resolution display or the compared 12 GB / 256 GB configuration.
- You are willing to pay more in your local market for those listed hardware differences.
Choose the Phone (4b) if
- Your priority is the lower observed price in the Austrian store snapshot, subject to checking your own market’s current price.
- You prefer the larger 6.77-inch display diagonal.
- You do not need the Phone (3)’s listed telephoto module or higher compared memory and storage configuration.
Before paying, compare the total local price for the exact RAM/storage SKU, the official regional battery specification, current update terms, network compatibility, warranty and seller stock. The available figures support a specification-based choice, not a universal winner.
