Which phone has the better cameras?
CMF Phone 2 Pro: a telephoto option
The clearest camera distinction in the available specifications is the CMF Phone 2 Pro’s telephoto camera. It gives buyers a dedicated lens for more distant subjects, alongside the rest of its promoted four-camera system. That makes the CMF the more obvious pick if optical reach is a priority. A camera count alone does not establish image quality, however, and the available evidence does not provide a hands-on comparison of photos from the two phones.
Choose by the shots you take
Consider how often you photograph distant subjects, and whether a dedicated telephoto camera matters more to you than the other differences here. Do not assume that the camera with more lenses will take better pictures in every situation: no direct image-quality test is established by these specifications.

Display and performance
Both phones are listed with AMOLED displays and 120 Hz refresh rates. The CMF Phone 2 Pro’s panel is reported as 6.77 inches, compared with Nothing’s 6.7-inch figure for the Phone (2a). Those measurements do not establish which display looks better in person.
The listed processors are different Dimensity chips, but model names alone do not settle which phone will feel faster in a particular app or workload. No comparable benchmark results or hands-on performance tests are established here, so treat the chip specifications as identification rather than a definitive speed ranking.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Battery and charging
Both phones are specified with 5,000 mAh batteries, but the same capacity does not prove equal real-world battery life. Usage, software and other conditions affect endurance; the cited information does not provide a controlled comparison.
Recommended Free Tools
For charging, Nothing lists 45W fast charging for the Phone (2a), while Tom’s Guide reports 33W wired charging for the CMF Phone 2 Pro. Nothing Support says Phone (2a) charging speed varies with temperature and charging protocol and recommends a PPS charger for optimal charging. Actual charging results and included accessories can differ by charger and market.
Nothing says the Phone (2a) package includes a pre-applied screen protector. That is a practical packaging detail, not a reason to assume the same contents in every region or for the CMF Phone 2 Pro. Nothing India’s accessory categories list Phone (2a) cases and screen protectors.
Price difference: why there is no universal winner
The available price examples are historical and do not form a like-for-like comparison. Tom’s Guide reported the CMF Phone 2 Pro at $279 for an 8GB/256GB version through a US beta program, and £219 for an 8GB/128GB version in the UK, in its 2025 review. The configurations, countries and access conditions differ, and these figures are not current offers.
No matched current price pair for the two phones is established here, so a single price gap would be misleading. To compare value, check listings in your country at the same time and match RAM and storage where possible. Account for retailer, warranty, discounts, bundles and availability; treat beta-program access separately from ordinary retail availability.
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the CMF Phone 2 Pro if a dedicated telephoto camera is the feature you most want and its current local price, configuration and availability suit you.
- Consider the Nothing Phone (2a) if its specified 45W charging matters to you or you find a better local offer for the configuration you need.
- Before ordering either phone, verify the exact RAM and storage variant, network compatibility with your carrier, local warranty and service options, and the seller’s current stock. These details are not established universally by the cited specifications.
Those are conditional recommendations based on published specifications and dated price reporting, not a hands-on verdict on camera quality, speed or battery life.
