Nothing Ear (stick) is a half-in-ear true wireless set for listeners who prefer earbuds that do not seal inside the ear canal. Its 12.6 mm drivers and long advertised battery life look appealing on paper, but it has no active noise cancellation (ANC) or wireless charging. Fit is personal, and the available evidence here is Nothing’s own specifications—not independent listening or battery tests.
What Nothing Ear (stick) offers
Nothing lists a 12.6 mm dynamic driver in each earbud, Bluetooth 5.2, AAC and SBC codec support, three microphones per earbud, and press controls. These are manufacturer specifications; driver size alone does not establish sound quality, and no independent sound, call-quality, or latency measurements are available here. See Nothing’s Ear (stick) specifications.

- Fit: Half-in-ear, rather than an in-ear design with silicone tips.
- Controls: Press controls, according to Nothing.
- Compatibility: Nothing lists Android 5.1 or later and iOS 11 or later, as well as Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. Platform-specific support caveats apply on the product page.
- Durability: The earbuds are rated IP54 for dust and water resistance; the charging case is not rated.
Does Nothing Ear (stick) stay in your ears?
It may, but the half-in-ear shape will not suit every ear. Nothing itself warns that differences in ear shape can make the buds feel too large or too small. Its advice is to press them gently into place and rotate them slightly until they sit comfortably. That is a positioning suggestion, not a guarantee of a secure fit for every person.

If you need a tight seal or find half-in-ear earbuds unstable, this is a meaningful reason to try the fit before buying where possible. Nothing describes ergonomic design work on the product page, but that manufacturer claim cannot predict how the earbuds will feel in your ears.

Battery life and charging claims
Nothing advertises up to 7 hours of listening from the earbuds alone and up to 29 hours in total with the charging case. The company says those figures come from internal laboratory testing at 25°C while playing music at 50% volume. They are not independent test results, and actual battery life varies with factors such as volume, calls, source, interference, features, and usage habits.
| Manufacturer claim | What it refers to |
|---|---|
| Up to 7 hours | Listening time from the earbuds per charge. |
| Up to 29 hours | Total listening time with the charging case. |
| Up to 1.8 hours | Listening time from a 10-minute charge of the earbuds alone. |
| Up to 9 hours | Listening time from a 10-minute charge when earbuds and case are combined. |
All four figures are Nothing’s claims, not guarantees. The product page’s laboratory conditions—25°C and music playback at 50% volume—are specified for its battery testing, and real-world results can differ.

Ear (stick) versus Nothing Ear (2)
Nothing’s own comparison highlights a basic choice: Ear (stick) uses a half-in-ear fit, while Ear (2) is an in-ear model. The company lists adaptive ANC and Qi wireless charging for Ear (2), neither of which Ear (stick) has.
| Feature | Nothing Ear (stick) | Nothing Ear (2) |
|---|---|---|
| Fit | Half-in-ear | In-ear |
| ANC | No | Adaptive ANC, advertised up to 40 dB |
| Wireless charging | No | Qi, up to 2.5 W |
| Advertised total battery life | Up to 29 hours with case | Up to 36 hours with case |
| Driver | 12.6 mm dynamic driver | Not stated in the cited comparison |
These are manufacturer-published comparison specifications. The advertised battery totals do not show how either model will perform in a particular person’s day, and the driver specification does not establish which sounds better. Availability and pricing can change.

Water resistance and the charging case
Nothing rates the earbuds IP54; that rating does not apply to the case. The company says TÜV SÜD tested the earbuds on June 5, 2022, under IEC 60529:1989, A1:1999, and A2:2013. Nothing warns that dust and water resistance can diminish as the product ages, and says liquid or dust damage is excluded from its stated warranty coverage. IP54 should not be treated as permission to submerge the earbuds or expose them carelessly to water.
