Netflix’s announcement paired the date with first-look photos of Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) as an established couple, plus returning favorites, new cast members and a new Season 2 creative team. Netflix’s current title listing shows two available seasons as of August 18, 2026.
What Netflix announced
Netflix’s Tudum announcement revealed the October 23, 2025 premiere date and official first-look images for Season 2. The photos move the focus beyond Joanne and Noah’s initial attraction: they are now trying to make an ongoing relationship work while their families, friends, faith communities and jobs continue to shape their lives. Netflix’s Season 2 announcement also outlined the returning ensemble and incoming cast.
The first-look material was published around August 14, 2025. It was separate from the later trailer and the first-few-minutes preview, so the three promotional releases should not be treated as one announcement.
What the first-look photos show
The official gallery presents Joanne and Noah together as a couple, rather than as strangers testing a new romance. Other images show Joanne and Morgan (Justine Lupe) working on their podcast, Morgan with Arian Moayed’s Andy, and Noah with people from his religious and family circles. Esther, Sasha, Morgan and Joanne remain part of the wider social and family group. Netflix’s first-look gallery identifies the images and performers.

What Season 2 is about
Season 1 centered on Joanne, an agnostic sex podcaster, and Noah, a newly single rabbi, falling for each other despite different religious and cultural backgrounds. Season 2 asks a more practical question: can they function as a real partnership after the rush of a new romance fades?
