TechRadar’s reviewer found ANC underwhelming, while Pocket Gamer’s reviewer was much more positive. If you value comfort and sound customization over class-leading quiet, the Amadeus may suit you; if ANC is your priority, compare it carefully with alternatives.
What are the Noble FoKus Amadeus?
The FoKus Amadeus are premium true wireless in-ear earbuds with active noise cancellation (ANC), touch controls and the Noble FoKus app. TechRadar reported a June 2025 release and launch prices of $320, £299.99 and approximately AU$615. Those are historical review-era figures, not a current quote; check local retailers for today’s price and availability.

TechRadar’s published specifications describe Bluetooth 5.4 with SBC, AAC, LDAC and aptX Adaptive support, USB-C charging, an 8.3 mm triple-layer driver and a stated frequency range of 20 Hz–20 kHz. The driver is described as using ceramic, titanium and PEEK layers. The review lists dimensions of 17 × 25 × 25 mm, a weight of 8.6 g for the pair of earbuds and a 55.5 g charging case. These are specifications reproduced by TechRadar, not independent measurements here.
Are the FoKus Amadeus comfortable?
Comfort is one of the strongest points in both review accounts, though fit is personal and no earbud shape works equally well for everyone. TechRadar’s James Grimshaw praised the asymmetrical housing and angled drivers, and reported a secure fit with the medium double-flanged tips. The box includes three sizes each of single- and double-flanged tips. Pocket Gamer reviewer Jupiter Hadley also described the earbuds as lightweight and comfortable, saying they felt almost unnoticeable during use.

- Audiodo Personal Sound – music, matched to you Following the huge success of the FoKus Rex5, Audiodo Personal Sound has been integrated into another FoKus series product. This advanced hearing calibration software analyses the listener’s hearing in each ear and builds a personalised sound profile. Once set up, that profile is stored directly on the earbuds and applied across all devices – no app required for everyday use.
- Next-generation performance with the latest Bluetooth 5.4 Built around Qualcomm’s QCC3091 chipset and equipped with Bluetooth 5.4, the FoKus Amadeus ensures high-resolution playback and low-latency performance. It supports SBC, AAC, aptX Adaptive, and LDAC, giving users access to excellent audio quality whether streaming podcasts, music or video.
- Real-world features such as TrueWireless Mirroring and multi-point pairing come as standard, while touch-sensitive controls make day-to-day use easy and intuitive. Dual microphones with cVc noise cancelling ensure excellent voice pick-up for calls and virtual meetings, even in less than ideal surroundings.
The supplied tip selection gives listeners options to find a seal, but it does not guarantee comfort or a stable fit for every ear. If you can, buy from a retailer with a suitable return policy and try the different included tips before judging fit or isolation.
How do the FoKus Amadeus sound?
TechRadar’s reviewer described the stock sound as warm and engaging, with a cushioned low end and crisp, plucky treble transients. The same listening account found that bass could sometimes take up too much space and that the upper range could feel lacking in width. Those are subjective impressions, not a universal description of how every listener will hear the earbuds.

- Compact Design: Sleek and lightweight in-ear form factor provides a comfortable and secure fit for extended listening sessions.
- Long-Lasting Battery: Enjoy uninterrupted music playback or calls with the headphones' impressive battery life.
The Noble FoKus app offers graphic EQ, sound curves and presets, as well as Audiodo Personal EQ, which uses a hearing-calibration process to tailor playback. TechRadar’s reviewer tried the personalized curve but preferred not to use it for music; the feature is optional. Pocket Gamer also describes a hearing test for sound personalization. This is an audio-personalization feature, not a medical hearing test.
How good is the ANC?
The reviews disagree. TechRadar’s reviewer found ANC lacklustre during bus and home listening and reported a noticeable noise floor in Ambient mode, though passive isolation from the fit was considered good. Pocket Gamer, by contrast, called the noise cancelling great. These are differing listening experiences, not laboratory findings, so the evidence does not establish that the Amadeus will reliably outperform or disappoint every listener.

If blocking noise is the main reason you are shopping, compare the Amadeus directly with the Sony WF-1000XM5 and Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, which TechRadar names as alternatives. Consider ANC performance alongside comfort, sound preferences, battery claims, connectivity and current local pricing rather than relying on one reviewer’s impression.
What are the controls like?
The earbuds use capacitive touch controls. TechRadar’s reviewer found the tap scheme difficult to internalize because similar double- and triple-tap gestures perform different jobs on the left and right earbuds. The app allows control customization. Pocket Gamer describes a left/right split that assigns volume and ANC functions to one side and playback and voice controls to the other. Expect to spend some time learning the gestures and setting them to your preference.

How long does the battery last?
TechRadar’s specification table quotes up to 12 hours of playback from the earbuds with ANC off and up to 42 hours with the charging case. It also reports that a 10-minute charge provides two hours of playback. These are stated figures reproduced in the 2025 review, not independently measured results; actual runtime will vary with volume, ANC, codec, connectivity and other usage settings.
Are the FoKus Amadeus worth the price?
TechRadar’s review-era launch pricing placed the Amadeus in the premium category. Its reviewer praised the sound, comfort, battery specification and connectivity, but considered the earbuds expensive and criticized the ANC. TechRadar assigned scores of 4.5/5 for features, 4.5/5 for sound, 5/5 for design and 4.5/5 for value; those are that publication’s editorial ratings, not objective measurements.

- [Acoustic upgrade: speed and separation] The Fokus Prestige Encore moves to a three-way hybrid driver configuration featuring: 8mm dynamic driver for rich, authoritative bass. Dual Knowles balanced armatures for midrange clarity and texture. New 6mm planar magnetic driver to extend treble air, increase transient speed, and reveal microdetail.
- [Wireless done right]The Encore runs on the Snapdragon S3 Gen 1 Sound Platform, supporting the latest generation of high-resolution codecs: aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, LDAC, AAC, and SBC. This allows listeners to stream in bit-perfect quality where supported, while Bluetooth 5.4, multipoint pairing, and TrueWireless Mirroring ensure stable connections and effortless switching between devices. For calls and conferencing, dual-mic cVc noise suppression reduces environmental noise without overly processing the natural tone of the voice, maintaining clarity in professional and casual settings alike.
- [Longer listening, more comfort]The endurance with 65mAh cells in each bud and a 500mAh wireless charging case, offering up to 10 hours of playback (ANC off) or 7 hours (ANC on), with a total of 35 hours including the case. A 10-minute quick charge provides around 2 hours of listening, keeping users moving with minimal downtime. The housings and charging case are CNC-machined entirely from solid wood, not just a decorative plate, but full wooden construction. Each piece displays its own natural wood grain, ensuring that no two Encores look exactly the same. Combined with a smaller, lighter geometry, this makes for a premium finish and a secure, fatigue-free fit during long sessions.
- [Smarter sound, tailored to the listener]Building on Noble’s integration of Audiodo Personal Sound in the Rex5 and Amadeus, the Encore offers refined per-ear calibration with on-device profile storage. After a one-time test, personalised frequency adjustments are written into the IEMs themselves, meaning your profile follows you across all devices — no app dependency once it’s set.
The value case is strongest if the fit works for you, you like the sound character, and you expect to use the app’s customization or broad codec support. The case is weaker if you are paying mainly for powerful ANC or if the current local price is close to alternatives that better match your priorities. Compare current prices and retailer availability rather than treating the 2025 launch figures as live offers.
