The chance of finding one has not increased, however, and a Cell is not guaranteed on every Route. Scopely says five gameplay and quality-of-life updates have recently rolled out, though it does not specify an app version or when each player will receive them.
What changed about Zygarde Cells on Routes?
If you discover a Zygarde Cell during a Route, it is awarded when you complete the Route. You do not need to tap the Cell on the map to collect it. This changes how a discovered Cell is claimed, not how often one appears: Scopely says the chance of finding a Cell remains unchanged, so some Routes may still yield none.

One dynamic icon for the Compass and Weather
The Compass and Weather controls share a single dynamic icon. The Compass appears while you rotate or zoom the map; at other times, the Weather icon appears. Tap Weather to see current conditions and their boosts. When the Compass is visible, tap it to toggle the map’s viewing direction.

Extra confirmation before transferring max-stat Pokémon
Pokémon GO now asks you to confirm before transferring a Pokémon with maxed-out stats. When you select multiple Pokémon for transfer, the warning also gives the exact number of selected 100% Pokémon, helping you spot one before confirming.
More space between map features
Map spacing has been adjusted to reduce overlap among wild Pokémon encounters, Gyms, Power Spots, and PokéStops. The aim is to make individual encounters and locations easier to tap.

Community Ambassador meetup check-in from the map or web
Trainers can check in to a Community Ambassador meetup from the in-game map or a web browser. To check in from the map:
- Open the map from Nearby.
- Find the purple Meetup pin and confirm the event says “Hosted by a Community Ambassador.”
- Tap Check In. Check-in becomes available 15 minutes before the scheduled start.
When will these changes appear in your game?
Scopely’s announcement says the updates have recently rolled out, but it does not identify an app release number, a precise rollout schedule, or regional availability. Pokémon GO Hub reported the changes on October 8, 2026, but the official announcement is the source for the feature details and rollout wording. If a feature is not showing in your game, the available information does not establish whether it has reached your account yet.
