It had passed by October 7, so buying NMDC shares now does not establish eligibility for that dividend. The announcement was reported as subject to shareholder approval, and the available filing information does not establish whether the resolution passed or when payment will be made. September operating figures offer context, not a standalone reason to buy the stock.
What happened with NMDC’s ₹1 dividend?
Goodreturns and PSU Express reported that NMDC proposed a final dividend of ₹1 per share for FY 2025–26, with October 5, 2026, as the record date. Goodreturns reported the date on October 5; PSU Express reported it on August 24. Because the date had passed as of October 7, it is no longer an upcoming eligibility date.

A proposed dividend is not the same as an approved or paid dividend. NMDC’s website lists a September 30, 2026, disclosure of voting results and the scrutinizer report for its September 28 AGM, but the listing alone does not show the result of the final-dividend resolution. The company’s investor announcements page is the place to check the filing itself. PSU Express reported that the filing did not specify a payment date, so a payment date should not be assumed.

Goodreturns reported September 2026 iron-ore production of 4.04 million tonnes and sales of 3.51 million tonnes. These are attributed figures from secondary reporting; the underlying exchange filing should be checked before treating the sales number as independently confirmed. Monthly production and sales are operating measures, not quarterly revenue, profit or earnings. They do not, by themselves, show that earnings or the share price will rise.

How does the month compare with the company’s annual figures?
NMDC’s official website presents FY 2025–26 turnover of ₹31,554 crore, profit before tax of ₹10,155 crore, production of 53.16 million tonnes and sales of 50.24 million tonnes. Those figures provide company-reported annual context, but do not answer whether the shares are attractively priced today. See NMDC’s official website for the company’s performance information.

Not on the evidence in these disclosures alone. A dividend announcement and one month’s operating data do not establish a current valuation or an investment recommendation. Goodreturns reported a share price around ₹73.77 during its October 5 article; that is a dated quote, not a live price or a basis for a buy decision.

Before deciding, an investor would need to assess current valuation alongside the company’s earnings and cash-flow outlook, production and sales trends, exposure to iron-ore prices, and the sustainability of dividends. The reported monthly figures and FY 2025–26 company metrics do not settle those questions, and suitability depends on an investor’s own circumstances.
