Despite “bundle” language, the console package does not include a game: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is sold separately and is announced for November 5.
What Nintendo revealed
Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition on September 8, 2026. It is a themed edition of Switch 2 hardware, not a performance upgrade. The console and dock feature Zelda-inspired patterns. The dock is black and gold with a Triforce symbol, while the included Joy-Con 2 controllers are green and gold. Nintendo’s official US listing presents it as the standard three-mode Switch 2 system, for TV, tabletop, and handheld play: Nintendo’s US product listing.

What comes in the console package
Nintendo lists these items in the system package:
- Nintendo Switch 2 console
- Left and right Joy-Con 2 controllers
- Nintendo Switch 2 dock
- Joy-Con 2 grip and two Joy-Con 2 straps
- AC adapter and USB-C charging cable

Is Ocarina of Time included?
No. The Switch 2 release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a separate purchase, announced for November 5, 2026—one week after the console’s listed US release. Nintendo says the first print run of the physical game will have textured foil cover art while supplies last. That packaging detail applies to the separate game, not the console package.
Release date, US price, and availability
Nintendo lists October 29, 2026, as the US release date for the anniversary system and themed accessories. A secondary report gives the US console price as $519.99; Nintendo’s product listing captured for this article does not state a price. Check the current Nintendo Store listing for the price and availability that apply to your region. The US figure should not be assumed to apply elsewhere.

How the themed edition compares with regular Switch 2
The confirmed difference is the anniversary styling and package presentation. Nintendo’s listing gives the system the same core Switch 2 specifications; it does not claim edition-specific performance improvements. Its listed features include a 7.9-inch 1080p display, 256 GB of internal storage (some space is used by the system), and microSD Express expansion. With compatible games and a compatible TV, TV mode supports output up to 4K at a maximum of 60 fps. Nintendo also cautions that some original Switch games may not be supported or fully compatible.

The Pro Controller package with the display stand is listed as exclusive to Nintendo Store, Nintendo NEW YORK, and Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO; check local listings for current availability. These accessories are not included with the console.
