Nintendo has renewed trademarks associated with Metroid Prime: Federation Force, Blast Ball, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and Ever Oasis, according to a report published October 3, 2026. The renewals maintain rights in those names; they do not confirm that Nintendo is developing new games, ports, remakes or sequels.
Which game trademarks were renewed?
Nintendo Life’s Liam Doolan reported the renewals on October 3, 2026, naming four titles linked to Nintendo’s older handheld and console releases:

Nintendo Support defines trademarks as “the distinctive names, words, logos, designs and symbols used to distinguish a product of a particular manufacturer or source.” In practical terms, a trademark concerns identifying a product’s source—not whether a new version of that product is being made.

Nintendo’s FAQ treats trademarks separately from copyrights, patents and design rights. A trademark renewal should therefore not be described as a patent filing, a copyright renewal, or proof of active game development.
Does this mean any of the games is coming back?
No announcement follows from the renewals alone. Nintendo Life says renewals are part of the company’s regular intellectual-property operations and cautions that they do not guarantee an announcement or reveal. The report notes that some filings have preceded game announcements in the past, but that context is not evidence that any of these four games is returning.

Without an announcement from Nintendo, the reported renewals do not establish plans for a rerelease, remake, sequel or new platform version. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is the one title in this group for which the report specifically notes a later Switch edition: the version released in 2020.
Why these titles stand out
The group spans a 3DS multiplayer spin-off and its companion game, a Wii U RPG that later moved to Switch, and a 3DS action RPG. That mix makes the renewals notable to fans of older Nintendo releases, but the report offers no confirmed product roadmap for them. Whether you would like to see any of these games return is a question of fan interest, not something the trademark activity answers.
