Where Nintendo NEW YORK is and how to get there

Subway access
Nintendo’s store information identifies the B, D, F and M trains to the 47–50 Sts/Rockefeller Center station. From the station, follow signs toward Rockefeller Center and use the street address to identify the entrance. Subway service, exits and walking conditions can change, so check the Metropolitan Transportation Authority before setting out if your arrival time is tight.

- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
Allow time for the surrounding area
Rockefeller Center can be busy, especially around holidays, television events and major tourist periods. A short distance on a map may take longer when sidewalks are crowded or when building security and event barriers are in place. If you are meeting a group, choose the exact address as the meeting point rather than a general reference to “Rockefeller Center.”
Hours, admission and reservations
Normal admission
Admission is free. Nintendo’s retail-location FAQ says, “No, there is no charge to visit the stores.” You can normally walk in during posted operating hours without buying a product or booking a timed ticket.
Current listed hours
Nintendo currently lists these regular hours:
| Day | Listed hours |
|---|---|
| Monday–Saturday | 10 a.m.–8 p.m. |
| Sunday | 11 a.m.–7 p.m. |
These are the store’s published regular hours, not a guarantee that every date will operate identically. The official page also carries dated events, and an event can change opening, closing or entry arrangements. Check the current store page immediately before travel, particularly on holidays or when you see an event advertised.
When a reservation may be needed
Nintendo’s wording is specific: “Reservations are not typically required except for special events.” A special event may use a reservation, registration, pass, timed entry or another check-in procedure. Do not assume that a reservation for one event grants access to the whole store all day; read that event’s instructions for the permitted entry window and any identification or confirmation requirements.

Ordinary visit versus special event
| Planning factor | Typical store visit | Special event |
|---|---|---|
| Reservation or pass | Generally not required; walk-in entry during posted hours. | May be required. Follow the event notice. |
| Entry timing | Arrive during regular operating hours. | Use the assigned window or check-in instructions, if provided. |
| Operating hours | Monday–Saturday 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m.–7 p.m. | May differ from regular hours. |
| Merchandise | Depends on inventory on the day. | Event-specific limits or availability may apply. |
| Rules | Follow staff directions and normal store policies. | Additional event terms can apply. |
Group visits
Groups can contact the store at [email protected] to arrange a visit. Email before traveling and include the proposed date, approximate arrival time, group size and any practical questions. A group request is not the same as a guaranteed event reservation; wait for the store’s response and follow any instructions it sends.
What visitors can do inside
Interactive areas and demonstrations
Nintendo describes interactive gaming areas and hands-on demonstrations for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch – OLED Model and Nintendo Switch Lite. Availability, queue length and the games or hardware being demonstrated can vary by day. Staff directions control access when an area is busy.
Nintendo Showcase and store ambassadors
Store ambassadors can explain Nintendo history in the Nintendo Showcase, guide visitors through interactive areas and provide demonstrations. If you want a guided explanation rather than a quick retail stop, ask an ambassador what is available when you arrive. A demonstration is a store experience, not a promise that every game, console configuration or accessory will be in stock for purchase.

1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsMerchandise and systems
The store promotes Nintendo Switch systems and themed collections including My Mario, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart and The Legend of Zelda merchandise. It also offers accessories for current systems. Inventory is local and can change without notice, so a product shown in promotional material is not proof that it will be available on your visit.

Orders and replacement parts
Nintendo says its retail stores do not take online or phone orders. Accessories and replacement parts that are not available in the store may be ordered online through Nintendo’s normal channels, but that is a separate purchase process. Do not ask the store to reserve an item by phone unless a current event or store notice explicitly offers that service.
Nintendo NEW YORK return and exchange policy
The basic rule
Nintendo’s retail policy gives you 30 days from the original purchase date to return or exchange products purchased directly from Nintendo New York or Nintendo San Francisco. The original sales receipt is required, and the product must be returned to the same Nintendo store where it was purchased. The policy is for direct in-store purchases; it does not cover products bought from another retailer or Nintendo’s online store.
What to bring
- The product and all original components.
- The original sales receipt.
- Original packaging, seals and tags where applicable.
- The payment or purchase details needed for the store to process the transaction under its current procedure.
Keep the receipt from the day you buy the item. A bank or card statement is not a substitute for the original sales receipt under the published policy.
Items Nintendo excludes
The policy excludes products that have been opened, unsealed or had tags removed; items that are damaged, used, not in original condition or missing parts; purchases made elsewhere; returns taken to a different Nintendo store; late returns; gift cards; and digital items. Digital items include games, downloadable content, subscriptions, download codes and physical products that contain digital items.
Rank #4
- This pre-owned product is not Apple certified, but has been professionally inspected, tested and cleaned by Amazon-qualified suppliers.
- 6.2” LCD screen.
- Three play modes: TV, tabletop, and handheld
- Local co-op, online, and local wireless multiplayer
- Detachable Joy-Con controllers
| Situation | Policy result |
|---|---|
| Unopened physical item, original receipt, returned within 30 days to the purchasing store | Generally eligible for return or exchange under the published policy. |
| Opened, unsealed, used, damaged or incomplete item | Excluded. |
| Digital game, DLC, subscription or download code | Excluded. |
| Gift card | Excluded. |
| Item purchased from another retailer or online source | Not covered by this retail-store policy. |
| Return attempted after 30 days | Excluded as a late return. |
| Return taken to Nintendo San Francisco when purchased in New York, or vice versa | Excluded because the item must go back to the store where it was purchased. |
How to avoid a rejected return
- Confirm the original purchase date on the receipt.
- Check that fewer than 30 days have passed.
- Leave the item sealed and keep every part, insert, tag and piece of packaging.
- Bring the original receipt.
- Return it to the Nintendo store shown on the purchase record.
If an item is defective or you are unsure whether its packaging counts as opened, contact the store before making a trip. Staff can explain how the current policy applies, but the published exclusions still govern eligibility.
Photography, video and recording
Nintendo’s published Nintendo NEW YORK pages do not state a general personal-photography or recording rule. That means you should not assume that photographing displays, filming demonstrations, using a tripod, livestreaming or recording other visitors is permitted. Ask a staff member before taking photos, and stop if staff instruct you to do so.
Event-specific terms can be stricter than ordinary store practice. If you are attending an event, read its instructions for camera, audio, livestreaming and content-creation restrictions. For a definitive answer before travel, call (646) 459-0800 or email [email protected].
Wheelchair access and other accessibility questions
The official store pages reviewed do not publish an accessibility feature list, wheelchair route, seating information or sensory-accommodation policy. Do not rely on an assumption that a particular entrance, restroom, queue or demonstration area will meet your needs.
Best Value
- One player can use a Joy-Con in each hand
- Two players can each take one
- Multiple Joy-Con can be employed by numerous people for a variety of gameplay options (additional Joy-Con sold separately)
- Slip a set of Joy-Con into a Joy-Con grip accessory, mirroring a more traditional controller. Or, select an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
Contact the store before visiting at (646) 459-0800 or [email protected]. Explain the specific assistance you need, such as step-free entry, accessible queueing, seating, restroom access, a quieter visit or help reaching a demonstration. Ask whether the answer changes for a special event, because event layouts and entry procedures may differ from a normal retail visit.
What to confirm in advance
- Which entrance is easiest for your mobility device.
- Whether queues, checkout areas and interactive demonstrations have step-free access.
- Whether seating or a companion arrangement is available.
- How staff handle service animals and personal support needs.
- Whether an event uses a different entrance, floor plan or timed queue.
Give the store enough notice to respond, and carry the name or details of the staff member who answered if the visit is important or time-sensitive.
Practical plans for different visits
Quick shopping stop
Check the day’s hours, travel to 10 Rockefeller Plaza and allow time for Midtown foot traffic. Bring a payment method and keep your receipt if you might need a return. Because inventory is not guaranteed, contact the store rather than assuming a particular system, accessory or themed item is available.
Family or first-time visit
Plan around the regular hours and expect interactive areas to be busier at popular times. Ask an ambassador about the Nintendo Showcase and demonstrations when you arrive. If your group is large enough to need coordination, email the store before the visit instead of arriving with an unannounced organized tour.
Event day
Read the event notice from beginning to end. Confirm whether you need a reservation, where to check in, when entry begins, whether regular retail access is limited and whether photography rules change. Carry the confirmation or pass in the format requested by the event organizer.
Accessibility-focused visit
Contact the store before booking travel. Describe your requirements plainly and ask for the current route and procedures rather than relying on general descriptions of Rockefeller Center or the store.
