What does the Ninja SLUSHi Twist do?
The FS701 processes two beverages simultaneously in separate vessels. SharkNinja calls its independent freezing system Dual SlushAssist; the machine can serve either drink by itself or dispense both through its twist feature. That makes it different from a conventional single-vessel slush maker: the central question is whether you will regularly want two frozen options available at the same time.

Each vessel holds 72 oz in total, but SharkNinja specifies a maximum liquid fill of 48 oz per vessel. The company advertises 10+ servings per side using a 9 oz serving basis; that is a manufacturer serving estimate, not a guarantee that every recipe or serving size produces the same number of drinks.

Because the two sides operate separately, their recipes and readiness can differ. A full batch is not necessary: the Guardian reviewer reported a minimum of 16 oz per vessel. That figure is the reviewer’s account of use, rather than a substitute for the FS701 owner’s guide.
How well does it freeze drinks?
Cycle time depends on the starting temperature and volume. In Sal Vaglica’s Guardian review, published August 20, 2026, a cold 16 oz batch took about 20 minutes, while a warm 48 oz batch could take up to an hour. Those are reported observations, not guaranteed times for every recipe or kitchen.

The recipe matters as much as the machine. Sugar and alcohol change how a mixture freezes, and the reviewer says the dashboard may prompt users to adjust a recipe. The Guardian reports a minimum of 4.5% sugar by weight and describes 20% ABV as the upper recipe level. SharkNinja’s product page likewise says cocktails can contain up to 20% alcohol; treat that as a limit, not a promise that every drink at or below that level will slush successfully. For an unsweetened 16 oz batch, the Guardian review relays Ninja’s suggestion of four tablespoons of simple syrup. Check the FS701 owner’s guide for recipe instructions before relying on a specific formula.
Ninja Test Kitchen’s official “Witches Brew Slushi Twist” illustrates the intended two-mixture workflow: one side combines orange juice, honey, lemon juice, pineapple juice and water; the other uses grapefruit citrus soda and hibiscus simple syrup. The recipe directs users to select Dual SlushAssist and adjust temperature as needed. Its listed times vary with serving quantity—under 20 minutes for two servings, under 35 minutes for four, and under 40 minutes for six—so they should not be read as universal cycle times.

Are the twist drinks as polished as the photos?
The Twist can dispense drinks together, but creating distinct, picture-perfect ribbons takes more effort than the marketing images imply. The Guardian reviewer found that polished layers were difficult to reproduce. The feature is therefore better understood as a way to offer two frozen drinks at once than as a guarantee of a dramatic, consistent swirl in every glass.
The Guardian review also says dairy drinks should be dispensed within 30 minutes of the ready light, reflecting Ninja guidance as reported by the reviewer. That is worth considering if you want to prepare a dairy-based batch well ahead of serving.

Size, controls and everyday practicality
According to the Guardian reviewer, the unit weighs about 35 lb and measures roughly 17.5 × 12 × 16 inches. It needs substantial counter space, and moving or storing it may be inconvenient. SharkNinja lists 14 temperature-control settings and no preset programs, so expect to choose settings rather than rely on named drink presets.
The US product page lists the motor base with a WhisperChill compressor, two vessels and dispense handles, two auger systems, two condensation catches, and a three-piece drip tray. The reviewed material does not establish a comparative cleanup time or long-term reliability result; the removable parts and actual washing routine are factors to check against your own storage and sink space.

Price and single-vessel alternatives
SharkNinja’s US launch announcement and FS701 product listing give a price of $399.99. Prices and stock can change, so check the current listing before buying. The premium is easiest to justify if two flavors at once will be useful for gatherings. If you generally serve one frozen drink at a time, the Guardian reviewer’s conclusion is that a lower-priced single-vessel Ninja model may be sufficient.
