The Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System CB402 is a broad Australian/New Zealand blender and food processor package, not just a pitcher blender. It includes containers for personal smoothies and thick mixtures, plus attachments for grinding, dough, chopping, slicing and grating. That range is useful if you will use several of those functions; it also means more parts to store, fit together and clean.
The main caveat is that the available independent performance testing is for the US SS401, not the CB402. Those results suggest strong ice crushing and small-batch fibrous blending, but less convincing large-batch smoothie performance, substantial noise and no hot blending on the tested model. They are useful context, not a CB402 test.

What is the CB402, and what comes in the box?
Ninja Australia lists the CB402 as a 1200 W blender and food processor system built around a SmartTORQUE motor base and a 2.1 L Power Blender & Processor Pitcher with a feed chute. Its included parts extend well beyond standard blender accessories.

The CB402ANZ owner’s guide gives the pitcher’s maximum liquid capacity as 1.9 L, despite its 2.1 L stated size. Use the maximum-liquid figure when planning recipes that expand or splash. The guide also says the Hybrid Edge blade assembly is not compatible with other Ninja products, so do not assume it fits another model or system. How does it perform? The available tests are for SS401
RTINGS tested the US SS401, not the Australian/New Zealand CB402. Since regional configurations, electrical specifications and included parts can differ, the following findings should be treated as related-model evidence rather than a direct CB402 review.

RTINGS also described the SS401’s jars and blade assemblies as dishwasher-safe, and characterized its base as generic plastic and its dial as cheap-feeling. Those are reviewer observations about the US model. Check the CB402ANZ guide for care instructions rather than assuming every regional component has identical guidance. Can it replace both a blender and a food processor?
That is the CB402’s strongest practical argument: its included attachments cover a wider set of jobs than a pitcher and personal cup alone. The pitcher and stacked blade address blending and crushing; the feed chute, pusher and discs add slicing, shredding and grating; the dough blade handles dough; and the grinder is intended for coffee and spices. The cup and bowl offer smaller-format blending options.

The trade-off is physical and procedural. Each attachment adds storage needs, and changing jobs means selecting and assembling the appropriate container, blade or disc. The manual’s blade-handling instructions matter: these are sharp components, so follow the guide when assembling, removing and cleaning them. If you only make pitcher smoothies, many of the included parts may spend more time in a cupboard than in use.

Who is the CB402 best suited to?
Consider it if you will use several functions
- You regularly move between smoothies, crushed ice, personal portions, thick mixtures, dough and food-preparation tasks.
- You value the included slicing, shredding and grating tools enough to accept the extra setup and storage.
- You want a system with multiple container sizes and are prepared to check the exact regional contents before buying.
Look carefully at alternatives if your main job is a specific one
- For large batches of very smooth fibrous smoothies, the SS401 results raise a concern, but they do not prove how the CB402 performs. Seek evidence for the exact model and task.
- For hot soups or other hot blending, the tested SS401 is not suitable according to RTINGS. No published CB402 hot-blending information establishes its capability, so confirm it from authoritative instructions for the exact model rather than inferring from the related US variant.
- If counter space, cabinet space or fast cleanup is more important than attachment breadth, a simpler appliance may be easier to live with.
RTINGS compared the SS401 with the KitchenAid K400 and said the K400 handled large batches of fibrous ingredients more smoothly and could hot blend, while the Ninja package had more accessory types, including personal jars, a bowl maker, slicing and grating. This was a comparison involving SS401, not a verified head-to-head test of the CB402, so it is best read as context about the trade-off rather than a ranking of the two exact regional products. Ninja Australia lists the CB402 at 1200 W and 15,500 RPM, with dimensions of 41 × 20 × 21.5 cm, a 0.8 m cord and a two-year warranty. These are manufacturer specifications for the Australian product page, not independent test findings or universal specifications for every market. The page displayed AUD $349.99 when accessed on 2026-10-08; that was a sale price and may change.

- Confirm the model is CB402 or CB402ANZ, not the US SS401.
- Check the included accessories against the seller’s listing and the relevant regional guide, especially the grating disc.
- Verify local electrical specifications, warranty terms, current price and availability.
- Check compatibility before ordering replacement parts; the guide specifically warns that the Hybrid Edge blade assembly is not compatible with other Ninja products.
Verdict
The Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System CB402 makes the most sense for someone who wants a single base with genuinely varied blender and food-preparation attachments and has room to keep them organized. Its bundle is less compelling if you need only a basic smoothie blender or if large-batch, very smooth fibrous blending or hot blending is a must-have. The detailed independent findings available here belong to SS401, so treat them as a reason to verify performance for the CB402—not as a direct test result for the Australian/New Zealand model.
