What Nike reported for fiscal Q1 2027
The quarter ended August 31, 2026. In its October 1 results release, Nike reported revenue of $11.2 billion, down 4% from a year earlier on a reported basis and 5% on a currency-neutral basis. Net income was $0.7 billion, down 2%, and diluted earnings per share was $0.48. Direct sales and the channel mix
NIKE Direct revenue was $4.1 billion, compared with $4.5 billion in the year-earlier quarter. Nike’s SEC filing reports that NIKE Direct declined 9% on a currency-neutral basis. The difference between that channel figure and total company revenue matters: a change in Direct sales alone does not describe performance across wholesale and all regions. What comes next
Nike forecast that fiscal 2027 revenue would decline by a high-single-digit percentage. This is a company forecast, not a reported result.

What Nike’s Pace restructuring includes
Nike describes Pace as a multi-year operating-model transformation that builds on a prior cost realignment. Its stated components include supply-chain modernization, a new campus in India, a realignment to three geographies, and further organizational streamlining. Estimated savings, expected charges and prior severance
Nike estimates approximately $2.5 billion in cumulative Pace savings through fiscal 2031 and approximately $1.0 billion in pre-tax charges through fiscal 2031, primarily employee-related. The $2.5 billion is a stated savings estimate, not a net figure after charges. Separately, Nike recognized approximately $0.3 billion in severance costs in fiscal 2026. Did Nike announce a specific number of layoffs?
No employee headcount for the October Pace announcement is stated in Nike’s results release or the SEC filing cited here. The filing describes further streamlining and estimates employee-related charges, but those figures do not establish how many people will be affected. A charge amount cannot be converted reliably into a layoff count.

Nike’s official earnings release and SEC filing do not provide a share-price change or specify a trading window, such as intraday, after-hours or closing. Without a separately sourced market figure and a defined window, the size of any post-announcement move cannot be stated here. Likewise, revenue was lower year over year, but Nike said results were consistent with its expectations; the materials do not show whether sales fell short of analysts’ consensus. “Disappointing” is therefore not established by the company’s reported figures alone.
