For a Next.js app in 2026, the listed monthly starting prices are $0 for Vercel Hobby, $0 for Netlify Free, $0 for Railway Free, and configuration-dependent for a VPS. For paid plans, the published starting points are $20/month for Vercel Pro, $9/month for Netlify Personal or $20/month for Netlify Pro, and $5/month for Railway Hobby or $20/month for Railway Pro. Those are plan prices, not guaranteed all-in bills: each platform meters usage differently, while a VPS also requires operating and supporting the server.
Next.js hosting prices at a glance
These are official list prices and plan terms found as of October 2026. They are useful starting points, not a like-for-like quote: taxes, region, add-ons, workload and metered usage can change the total. Check the live pricing pages before choosing.

Why the cheapest headline price may not mean the cheapest month
Each platform counts usage differently, so comparing subscription fees alone can mislead. A fair estimate uses the same app, traffic pattern and operational assumptions for every option.
- Vercel: The Pro plan fee includes $20 of monthly usage credit, alongside documented allowances of 1 TB fast data transfer and 10 million edge requests. Additional resource use can incur charges, and unused credit and allocations expire at month end. The Pro documentation was last updated February 3, 2026. See Vercel Pro plan terms.
- Netlify: Pro costs $20/month and starts with 3,000 credits. Rates published in the April 14, 2026 pricing update include 20 credits per GB of bandwidth, 10 credits per GB-hour of compute, and 2 credits per 10,000 web requests. Production deploys also consume credits. See Netlify’s pricing update.
- Railway: The subscription is applied to measured usage. Published resource rates are $10 per GB-month of RAM, $20 per vCPU-month of CPU, $0.05 per GB of network egress, and $0.15 per GB-month of volume storage. A continuously allocated resource can use more than the plan’s included amount. See Railway’s resource rates.
- VPS: The provider’s server price does not account for the time and supporting services needed to run the app. Add any paid backups, monitoring, CDN, database or deployment tools you need, as well as the value of setup and ongoing operations.
Netlify’s $9 Personal price is not directly comparable to another provider’s paid production plan: the included features and how usage is billed differ. Likewise, Railway’s included resource usage is not a fixed allowance of any one resource. Estimate the likely use of CPU, memory, storage and egress for your application rather than treating its plan price as a bill ceiling.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
Build a like-for-like monthly estimate
Use a representative month of traffic and deployments, then record the same workload assumptions for every option. Include the following inputs:
- Monthly outbound bandwidth and the share of static versus dynamic traffic.
- Function or compute runtime, memory use and request volume.
- Image optimization and any related processing.
- Persistent data, database needs and storage.
- Region, since some rates vary by location.
- Build and deployment frequency, preview environments and production deploys.
- Backups, monitoring, CDN and other supporting services.
- Team members or paid seats, plus usage beyond included plan allowances.
Apply each provider’s own pricing model to those inputs: Vercel’s published allowances and applicable overage rates, Netlify’s credit rates and limits, or Railway’s resource meters. For a VPS, include the services and operator time needed to cover the same operational requirements. Without those assumptions, there is no reliable single monthly total or universal cheapest option.

What each option means for a Next.js app
Vercel: a paid business plan with included usage credit
Vercel lists Hobby at $0/month and Pro at $20/month. Pro includes $20 in monthly usage credit, a flat-rate CDN feature, spend management, team collaboration and one paid deploying seat. Its documentation lists 1 TB fast data transfer and 10 million edge requests included; extra usage may raise the bill, and some resource charges depend on region. Hobby is explicitly for personal, non-commercial projects, so it is not the appropriate business-production price point. Vercel pricing · Vercel Pro plan documentation.
Netlify: a credit budget that can pause projects at its limit
Netlify lists Free at $0/month, Personal at $9/month and Pro at $20/month, with Pro starting at 3,000 monthly credits and offering unlimited seats. Credits cover multiple usage categories, including bandwidth, compute, web requests and production deploys. The pricing page says projects pause when monthly limits are reached; enabling or having access to extra credits can prevent a pause but may change the bill. - COVERAGE IN EVERY ROOM: Covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. for up to 20 connected devices. Walls, floors, and interference can reduce range. Larger or multi-story homes may benefit from a NETGEAR Orbi mesh WiFi system.
Railway: a subscription applied to measured resources
Railway lists Free at $0/month, Hobby at $5/month and Pro at $20/month, with $1, $5 and $20 of included resource usage respectively. CPU, RAM, egress and volume storage determine consumption, so the plan fee does not by itself establish the maximum monthly bill. Railway also provides a Next.js deployment listing. A VPS gives you more control over the operating system, software stack and configuration, but also transfers more responsibility to you. Next.js notes that feature handling may require configuration for the infrastructure. Raw server rent does not include the work or services for monitoring, backups, scaling, patching, hardening or outage response. A VPS can make sense if you can maintain the stack or spread a server across multiple apps, but compare the full cost rather than rent alone.
