That is a dated report—not confirmation that the price or stock is still available, or that no other retailer has a lower comparable system. Check the live listing and checkout total before buying.
What the $1,749.99 Newegg PC includes
PC Gamer’s October 6, 2026 deal report described the Andromeda Insights Spectra with an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card with 16 GB GDDR6, an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X processor, 16 GB DDR5 memory, a 1 TB SSD, and an 850 W Gold power supply. The report called it the lowest price its writer could find for an RX 9070 XT desktop at the time. That is the publisher’s finding, not a comprehensive survey of every retailer or a guarantee of today’s price. PC Gamer’s deal report

What you give up for the lower price
The Spectra’s main trade-offs in the listed configuration are 16 GB of system memory and a Ryzen 5 9600X, rather than the 32 GB memory and Ryzen 7 9800X3D found in several higher-priced Newegg alternatives listed on October 7, 2026. The PC Gamer deal report characterized RX 9070 XT prebuilts as commonly costing more than $2,000; treat that as its editorial observation, not a market-wide price census.

GPU prices are not prices for complete gaming PCs
PC Gamer’s October 1, 2026 graphics-card price watch listed the RX 9070 XT card alone at $790.22 on Amazon and $799.99 at Newegg and Walmart. Those dated figures are GPU-only price-watch entries, not verified current checkout quotes and not prices for a complete desktop. The same page listed a $599 MSRP and specifications of 4,096 shaders, a 2,970 MHz boost clock, and 16 GB GDDR6; attribute those details to that page rather than treating retailer prices as current offers. How to judge whether the Spectra is still a good buy
- Compare complete desktops with an RX 9070 XT, not a graphics card’s standalone price.
- Put the total checkout price beside CPU, system memory, and storage capacity. Decide whether the Spectra’s 16 GB DDR5 and Ryzen 5 9600X suit your intended use or whether a higher-priced alternative’s listed 32 GB and Ryzen 7 9800X3D are worth the difference to you.
- Confirm the seller, stock status, shipping, return terms, and warranty on the live listing. A category-page price alone does not establish those conditions.
- Recheck the listing on the day you purchase; the $1,749.99 figure is tied to PC Gamer’s October 6, 2026 report.
PC Gamer’s deal article also quoted a Ryzen 5 9600X review attributed only to “our Nick”: “The first delivery in the current Zen 5 family is fast and cool, and a little cheaper than its predecessor. Nothing wrong with that but you might want to temper your expectations a little.” The excerpt does not identify Nick more fully, so no additional attribution is established.
