The physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches November 5, 2026. A French midnight-launch promotion reportedly adds a replica Nintendo 64 game box, while Canadian shoppers can receive a holographic N64-style slipcover. Neither item is a worldwide Nintendo bonus. Availability, eligibility and stock depend on the retailer and country.
What the Switch 2 release includes
Nintendo describes this as a version built from the ground up for Nintendo Switch 2. The official product description promises overhauled visuals, voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, symphonic orchestral music, enhanced controls and modern camera movement. Nintendo’s wording says: “Now Link must become the Hero of Time and save the kingdom in this classic tale, built from the ground up for the Nintendo Switch™ 2 system.”

The game is listed as exclusive to Switch 2 and supports handheld, TV and tabletop modes, one-player play, HDR output, variable refresh rate (VRR) output and Zelda-series amiibo. Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo figures are planned for 2027; Nintendo says they will unlock masks with a retro-inspired graphical style.

Micromania midnight launch
French retailer Micromania is reported to be offering a replica Nintendo 64 game box to customers who reserve the Switch 2 game and attend a midnight-launch event. The replica is sized to hold the modern Switch 2 case, making it display packaging rather than an N64 cartridge box.

This is a Micromania promotion tied to France and to the midnight event. It is not identified as a Nintendo-wide pre-order gift, and the available information does not establish international shipping or availability through other retailers. Confirm the event location, reservation conditions and remaining stock with Micromania before paying.
Canada’s holographic N64-style slipcover
EB Games Canada
EB Games Canada is reported to include a free holographic slipcover featuring original Nintendo 64 box art with qualifying physical pre-orders priced at $99.99 CAD. The pre-order cutoff is November 4, 2026, one day before launch, and the slipcover is supplied when the game is collected. Supplies are limited, so a qualifying order does not necessarily guarantee stock after the promotional allocation is exhausted.

Textured foil cover
The textured metallic foil cover is described as part of the first physical production run rather than a retailer-exclusive gift. Nintendo has not disclosed how many foil copies will be produced. A regional guide recorded no verified U.S. retailer-exclusive collectible as of September 12, 2026, so a U.S. order should not be assumed to include the French box, Canadian slipcover or another bonus.
Regional pre-order comparison
| Region or retailer | Price or purchase condition | Collectible or packaging | Timing and limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $60 reported pre-order price; $70 stated regular price | Textured foil first-print cover | First-print availability; no verified retailer-exclusive collectible in the cited guide |
| Canada, EB Games | $99.99 CAD qualifying physical pre-order | Free holographic slipcover with original N64 box art | Order by November 4, 2026; supplied at collection; while supplies last |
| France, Micromania | Reservation plus midnight-launch attendance | Replica N64-style box sized for the Switch 2 case | Retailer- and event-specific; limited availability should be confirmed locally |
| United Kingdom and parts of Europe | Retailer purchase terms vary | Replicas of the three Spiritual Stones; some stores also offer an Ocarina pin | Regional retailer allocations |
| France, FNAC | Retailer purchase terms vary | Ocarina keychain and Zelda coasters | Regional retailer allocation |
| Spain | Retailer purchase terms vary | Nintendo Store Spiritual Stones; FNAC/MediaMarkt sticker set; GAME Ocarina keychain | Retailer-specific |
| Germany | Retailer purchase terms vary | Nintendo Store Spiritual Stones and optional pin; Otto Ocarina-shaped keychain | Retailer-specific |
| Japan | Qualifying physical purchase | Five A5 art cards, paper display stand and Zelda 40th Anniversary sticker | Limited quantities |
| New Zealand, Mighty Ape | Paid bundle | Ceramic ocarina bundled with the game | Not a free pre-order gift |
How to choose the best offer
- Start with your country. The French box and Canadian slipcover are geographically restricted promotions; importing a game does not guarantee the bonus will be shipped internationally.
- Check whether the item is free. The EB Games slipcover is tied to a qualifying pre-order, while the Mighty Ape ceramic ocarina is a paid bundle.
- Verify the collection or event requirement. The Canadian cover is supplied at collection, and the Micromania box is connected to a midnight-launch event.
- Confirm first-print wording. In the United States, the foil cover is associated with the first physical run, not a separate retailer gift. Ask whether the listing explicitly identifies launch or first-print packaging.
- Recheck price and stock immediately before checkout. The reported U.S. discount and all limited collectibles can change or sell out.
What buyers should not assume
- A Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order in one country does not automatically include another country’s collectible.
- The foil cover is not proof that a retailer has an exclusive bonus.
- A paid accessory bundle is not equivalent to a free pre-order item.
- Online availability, international shipping and bonus fulfillment are not established by the regional reports; the retailer’s current terms control.
The Bottom Line
For the most distinctive retro packaging, the French Micromania midnight-launch reservation is the reported match; Canada offers a separate holographic N64-style slipcover. U.S. shoppers are looking at a reported $60 price and a first-print textured foil cover, but should verify the live listing and stock because prices and limited packaging can change.
