The report says he had been jailed for six years and nine months after attacking his former partner and later calling her 245 times from prison.

The news account says the man was sentenced in January 2025 to six years and nine months in prison after admitting two strangulation charges, perverting the course of justice, theft, driving while suspended and breaching an extended supervision order. These details are reported secondarily and have not been independently confirmed against the judgments.

What is known about the appeal decision
The report says the Court of Appeal refused his application for a second appeal and found no miscarriage of justice. It also says the High Court had previously considered the sentence appropriate.
