January 2027 is not a delisting date. It is the day the servers go dark. According to the publisher’s notice on the PlayStation Store listing, the game was delisted from sale on January 15, 2026 and will be taken offline on all platforms on January 31, 2027. Nothing in the official material we reviewed gives a PlayStation Plus catalogue exit date for it.
The two dates, side by side
| Date | What happens | Source |
|---|---|---|
| January 15, 2026 | Delisted; no longer available for purchase | PlayStation Store listing (US) |
| January 31, 2027 | Taken offline on all platforms | Same listing |
The listing reproduces the Amazon Games notice: “New World: Aeternum will officially be taken offline from all platforms on January 31, 2027.” These are the publisher’s dates, shown on the PlayStation Store. They are not PlayStation Plus announcements.

Can you keep playing until then?
Yes. The listing says existing players can keep playing on the platform where they bought the game until the servers close. The game needs a persistent internet connection and has no offline mode. After January 31, 2027, there is no offline fallback.

Not on that date, as far as the evidence shows. Sony’s PlayStation Plus games page says Extra gives access to the Game Catalog. It also says individual catalog games can have an end date and be removed. That is a separate process from a server shutdown, and Sony has not published a New World-specific catalogue removal date in the material we reviewed.
#1 Best Overall
- Feel physically responsive feedback to your in-game actions through haptic feedback
- Experience varying levels of force and tension at your fingertips with adaptive triggers
- Chat online through the built-in microphone and connect a headset directly through the 3.5mm jack
- Switch voice capture on and off using the dedicated mute button
- Play on more devices using the USB Type-C cable or Bluetooth to connect easily to Windows PC and Mac computers, Android and iOS mobile phones as well as your PlayStation 5
The “free game” label is also unconfirmed. Sony’s January 2026 Game Catalog announcement (January 14, 2026) does not list New World. That only covers that month’s additions. It does not settle earlier or regional availability, and we found no source showing it was an Essential monthly game.
What to check on your console
- Purchase: already closed, per the listing.
- Catalogue access: varies by region, tier and time. Check the game’s page in your local PlayStation hub for any end-date notice.
- Servers: end January 31, 2027. A higher PlayStation Plus tier does not extend this.
The store listing we relied on is the US version, so details in other regions may differ.
