Pokémon and the European Space Agency (ESA) have teamed up for World Space Week 2026, running 4–10 October. The official ESA x Pokémon collection includes two Astronaut Pikachu plush designs, apparel and small accessories—but the retail plushes are not the Pikachu that travelled to space.
What’s in the ESA x Pokémon collection?
The Pokémon Center announcement describes two Astronaut Pikachu plushes alongside a T-shirt, pullover hoodie and bomber jacket. The ESA Shop’s collection listing also shows adult and children’s apparel and a range of smaller items. Its catalog displays euro prices, which can change with stock and listing updates.

For the full range and current stock, check the Pokémon Center collaboration announcement and the ESA Shop collection. Regional availability differs: Pokémon specifically notes that some selections are exclusive to the Pokémon Center US website, so do not assume every item is available through every retailer or in every country.
Did the Astronaut Pikachu plush actually go to space?
A Pikachu plush did fly to the International Space Station with ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, but the ones for sale did not. ESA says the flown plush travelled on Adenot’s mission from 11 April to 17 June 2026, spending 67 days in orbit and making approximately 1,040 orbits. Pokémon clarifies that the white-suited retail plush matches the special plush that flew; it is not that flight-worn item.

- It is the most powerful pokémon in the Pokémon world
ESA says the wider World Space Week collaboration includes a European exhibition and outreach programme. The spaceflight story, public programme and purchasable collection are related parts of the partnership, but they are distinct experiences. ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher described the goal as inspiring future generations and helping people across Europe connect with space; that is the agency’s stated purpose, not a reported measure of educational impact.

- For Pokémon Center items: use the official Pokémon announcement and follow its links to the relevant Pokémon Center storefront. Its note about US-only selections matters if you are shopping from another region.
- For ESA Shop items: check the live ESA x Pokémon collection page for displayed prices, availability and the products currently listed.
- For the astronaut figure or 1,000-piece puzzle: check official listings directly. A 2 October 2026 article reported that these were not yet available at that time, but the official pages cited here do not establish whether their status has since changed or give a confirmed release date.
Retail listings and prices can change. An older report or a search result is not confirmation that a specific item is available now.
