The rumored Galaxy S27 and S27+ appear to retain a vertical rear-camera module, while a reported Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra use a broader rectangular or raised camera plateau. These are case-maker designs, not Samsung specifications, so the final phones, dimensions and camera details remain unconfirmed.
What the leaked cases appear to show
SammyGuru’s October 2, 2026 report describes cases for four possible models: Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. In the images, the standard S27 and S27+ have a vertical camera arrangement similar to Samsung’s established design language. The Pro and Ultra instead have a larger rectangular housing that rises from the back of the phone.

Mohammed Khatri of SammyGuru wrote that “Unlike the Pro and Ultra, the Galaxy S27 and S27+ stick to Samsung’s traditional design.” SamMobile’s September 2026 report identifies the larger structure as a camera plateau reminiscent of Apple’s recent approach. The shape suggests a substantial visual change, but it does not establish which sensors Samsung will use or why the housing is physically larger.

The Pro is the biggest potential change in the lineup. SamMobile and SammyGuru describe it as a possible smaller Ultra-like phone, while SammyGuru says it may leave out the integrated S Pen. Neither report establishes its screen size, thickness, battery or final name.

Is Samsung really changing the camera design?
The case evidence indicates that accessory makers are preparing for two rear-panel layouts, but it cannot prove Samsung has finalized either one. Case manufacturers commonly work from early “dummy” units, CAD files or dimensions supplied ahead of launch. Those references can be revised, and a case may also exaggerate clearances around lenses, flashes or buttons.
SammyGuru cautions that the renders provide a useful idea of the overall design but should not be treated as final. SamMobile likewise notes that the practical reason for the Pro and Ultra’s larger housing is unclear. It could accommodate different lenses, protect protruding components or simply reflect an industrial-design decision; the reports do not identify the cause.

What is known about cameras and zoom
SamMobile reports that 5x optical zoom may remain exclusive to the Galaxy S27 Ultra. That is a forecast, not a confirmed specification. The case images do not reveal sensor sizes, aperture values, stabilization hardware, megapixel counts or video capabilities, so those details should not be inferred from the plateau’s outline.

How the S27 rumors compare with the confirmed S26 baseline
Samsung’s 2026 first-quarter interim report provides a reference point for the current generation, not confirmation of the next one. It lists the Galaxy S26 at 6.3 inches, the S26+ at 6.7 inches and the S26 Ultra at 6.9 inches. Samsung has not confirmed S27 screen sizes, body measurements or a fourth Pro model in that report.

Keeping those categories separate matters: the S26 measurements are reported company information, while every S27 measurement and feature in circulation remains a rumor.

Will there be a Galaxy S27 Pro?
A Pro model is plausible within the leaked four-case lineup, but its existence is not official. The reports portray it as a smaller alternative to the Ultra, with the same plateau-style design and a possible lack of S Pen support. That would create a clearer split: the S27 and S27+ would follow the conventional design, the Pro would offer an Ultra-style appearance in a smaller body, and the Ultra would remain the largest, most camera-focused option.

When could Samsung reveal the Galaxy S27?
SamMobile expects a January or February 2027 announcement based on Samsung’s usual flagship schedule. That is a timing expectation, not a launch date. Samsung has not announced an S27 event, release date, pricing or regional availability. The interval between any announcement and retail release may also differ by country.
What these leaks mean for case buyers
Do not purchase a case advertised as Galaxy S27-compatible until Samsung confirms the model and retailers identify the exact device. A vertical-module case will not fit a phone with the rumored plateau, and even small changes to camera spacing, corner radius or button placement can make a case unusable. If Samsung launches multiple S27 sizes, check the model name and regional number printed on the phone or its packaging before ordering.
The safest conclusion is that Samsung may be preparing a visual split inside the S27 family, not that the final lineup is settled. As Mihai Matei of SamMobile put it, “Of course, nothing is really confirmed until it is.”
