Yes—but Netflix’s “co-op” offer is currently a beta focused on local, same-room play. Selected games run through Netflix on compatible TVs and computers, while each TV player typically uses a phone or tablet as a controller. The lineup includes cooperative games such as Overcooked! All You Can Eat, alongside competitive minigames, trivia, drawing, word and social-deduction titles. It is not yet a general-purpose online multiplayer service or a replacement for a console library.
What Netflix means by cloud gaming
Netflix now delivers games in three different ways:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
| Format | How it works |
|---|---|
| Mobile games | Downloadable games for Android and iPhone or iPad devices. |
| TV cloud games | The game runs through Netflix’s service, the TV displays it, and phones or tablets act as controllers. |
| Browser games | Supported games can be launched at Netflix.com in Chrome or Edge. |
Netflix describes TV and computer play as a beta. It is a narrower, more casual proposition than Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce NOW or PlayStation Plus cloud streaming: no console or dedicated gamepad is required, but a compatible screen, internet connection, Netflix account and controller phones still are.

Which Netflix games support group play?
Netflix’s documented TV lineup emphasizes living-room multiplayer. The exact selection can change by country, device and beta rollout. Netflix’s April 9, 2026 guide also contains an internal discrepancy: it names six titles or collections while later referring to five games. Check the Games row in your own account rather than relying on a fixed total.
| Title | Play style | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Overcooked! All You Can Eat | Cooperative couch play | Players work together on one screen, making it the clearest documented co-op example in the TV lineup. |
| LEGO Party! | Competitive party minigames | Players compete through themed challenge zones and minigames. |
| Boggle Party | Competitive word game | Netflix says it supports solo play or groups of up to eight players. |
| Pictionary: Game Night | Drawing and guessing | Phones serve as controllers for group drawing and guessing. |
| Tetris Time Warp | Competitive puzzle play | Players compete using different Tetris eras and mechanics. |
| Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends | Social deduction | One player is secretly uninformed while the group tries to identify that person. |
| The Jackbox Party Essentials | Party collection | The collection includes Drawful 2, Fibbage 4 and Quiplash 3, with support described as up to eight players. |
Netflix’s launch announcement and party-game coverage list these titles and formats (Netflix announcement; Netflix Tudum guide; Jackbox coverage). Player limits are title-specific; an eight-player claim for one game does not mean every Netflix game supports eight people.
Is this really co-op?
Couch co-op
Couch co-op means players cooperate on one screen. Overcooked! fits this definition: everyone is in the same room, sharing the TV and working toward a common result.

Local competitive multiplayer
Games such as many LEGO Party! and Tetris Time Warp modes use the same screen but have players competing against one another.
Party games
Drawing, word, trivia and social-deduction games are designed for a group, often with phones handling answers, drawings, voting or other inputs.
Online multiplayer
Netflix’s published TV-game documentation does not establish a general service for remote co-op between separate households. Do not treat “multiplayer” in the TV beta as proof of a broad online network.

How to play Netflix games on a TV
- Open Netflix on a compatible smart TV or streaming device.
- Choose a Netflix profile.
- Select Games at the top of the Netflix interface.
- Choose a title with a Play Game button and launch it.
- Scan the QR code shown on the TV with a phone or tablet for each player.
- Follow the game’s controller instructions and join the same session.
Netflix’s help page documents this flow and notes that some games can use a keyboard, mouse or trackpad instead (Netflix Games beta help).
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →How to play in a browser
- Go to Netflix.com in Chrome or Edge.
- Choose a profile and open Games.
- Look for a Games or Party Games row.
- Launch a supported title and follow its controller instructions.
What each player needs
- An active Netflix subscription. Netflix says its games have no separate ads, fees or in-app purchases.
- A compatible TV or streaming device, or a supported computer browser.
- A stable internet connection; Netflix recommends download speeds of at least 10 Mbps.
- For TV play, one phone or tablet per player.
- The Netflix app installed and updated on the TV or streaming device.
- A Netflix profile that has access to the beta.
“No console required” therefore does not mean “no hardware required.” Your TV or streamer, phones, Wi-Fi network and Netflix account remain part of the setup.
Where is the TV beta available?
Netflix lists selected markets including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, among others. The list and device coverage can change. A subscriber in a listed country still may not have access if the account, app version, device or rollout is not eligible.

The quickest check is to open Netflix and look for Games at the top. Netflix’s help page also describes a compatible-device management option that can show devices compatible with games. Update the TV or streaming-device software before treating a missing tab as a permanent incompatibility (Netflix compatibility guidance).
How many people can play?
Player counts depend on the title. Netflix specifically describes Boggle Party and The Jackbox Party Essentials as supporting up to eight players. Other games may support fewer participants or use different modes. Read the title’s on-screen instructions rather than assuming the maximum from another game.
Is Netflix a good alternative to a console?
| Good fit | Poor fit |
|---|---|
| Spontaneous local game nights | Large AAA or high-end graphics libraries |
| Families and casual players | Remote online co-op across separate homes |
| Households that already pay for Netflix | Players who need analog sticks and dedicated gamepad controls |
| People who have a supported TV and a phone or tablet for each player | Homes with weak or congested Wi-Fi, unsupported devices or unsupported regions |
The main advantages are convenience and bundling: games are included with an existing membership, there is no separate game purchase, and phones can become controllers. The trade-offs are beta access, changing regional support, network sensitivity, a smaller and more casual catalog, and less precise input than a dedicated controller.

Troubleshooting common problems
No Games tab
- Confirm that your country is supported.
- Check Netflix’s compatible-device guidance.
- Update the Netflix app and TV or streaming-device software.
- Restart the device and check another profile if appropriate.
- Contact Netflix support if a listed-compatible device still lacks the feature.
Phone will not connect
- Rescan the TV’s QR code.
- Confirm the phone has internet access.
- Close and relaunch Netflix on both devices.
- Restart the phone and TV app.
- Ensure every player has joined the same game session.
“Your connection is unstable”
- Turn off the TV or streaming device.
- Unplug the modem and router.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Reconnect them and wait for the network to return.
- Turn the TV or streamer back on and retry.
Too many people are playing
Stop another game or close Netflix on another device using the account. If the specific title is experiencing high demand, try another game or retry later.
Game unavailable or under maintenance
A “We can’t play games right now” message can indicate maintenance. Choose another title or return later.
What Netflix says is coming next
Netflix shareholder materials said cloud-delivered TV party games had reached approximately one-third of members in the relevant rollout and described plans to expand the cloud-games lineup in 2026, including a reimagined FIFA game (Netflix shareholder report). Those are company roadmap statements, not a guarantee that every announced title is available in every country or on every device.
Bottom line
Netflix’s cloud gaming is real, but its strongest current identity is Netflix-powered living-room entertainment with casual local multiplayer. It is an attractive extra for subscribers who want an easy game night using a TV and household phones. It should not yet be sold as a full console replacement or a proven remote online co-op platform.
