How to install Netflix on a Samsung Galaxy tablet
- Open the Samsung Galaxy Store on the tablet.
- Search for Netflix, select Netflix’s app and tap Install.
- Open Netflix, then sign in or sign up.
Netflix directs Samsung Galaxy phone and tablet users to the Galaxy Store. Its current-app requirement for Samsung Galaxy devices is Android 9 or later. Android 7–8 is listed only in connection with older app versions, not as the requirement for the latest app. See Netflix’s Android installation guidance for its device and version details.

What to check if Netflix does not appear
- Check whether the app is hidden. Netflix recommends checking the tablet’s settings in case Netflix has been hidden from the Apps screens.
- Check certification. Netflix says an Android app may not appear if the device is not Play Protect certified. Its guidance for an uncertified device is to use a supported device and contact the manufacturer.
- Consider the operating system. A rooted tablet or one running a modified operating system may not pass Netflix’s installation or app checks.
Use the official Galaxy Store rather than treating an unofficial APK as a routine fix. Netflix’s guidance points users to supported app stores, and modified devices may fail its checks. See Netflix’s troubleshooting steps for an app that cannot be found.
Can you watch Netflix on a Samsung tablet without Wi-Fi?
Netflix offers downloads of select titles for offline viewing, but download support depends on both the device and the plan. Netflix says some Android devices cannot download titles even when they run the latest app, so the ability to install Netflix does not prove that downloads will work on a particular Galaxy Tab.

Use the current Android version and Netflix app when troubleshooting a failed download. If downloading still does not work, Netflix says another device may be needed. Its download troubleshooting guidance covers those checks.
Netflix also says its “Downloads for You” feature is unavailable on ad-supported plans and uses Wi-Fi. That feature-specific restriction should not be read as a complete statement of manual-download entitlements for every plan, country or title; check the plan and title available to you. Will Netflix play in HD on your tablet?
App availability and HD playback are different. Netflix says an Android device needs Widevine L1 for HD; Widevine L3 means playback is limited to SD. In the Netflix app, open App Settings → Diagnostics → Playback Specification to check the device’s playback information. Netflix lists the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ as an HD-capable tablet, but that does not establish HD support for every Samsung tablet. See Netflix’s list of HD-capable Android devices.
Can you watch in a browser instead?
Netflix says it can be watched without the app through a supported web browser. Browser support depends on the browser, so try the app first; if you need the browser option, check Netflix’s browser requirements for the browser on your tablet.

What to check before replacing an older Galaxy Tab
There is no need to replace a tablet simply because Netflix is missing or a download fails. Check the specific issue first: whether the tablet meets the latest-app Android requirement, whether it is certified and the app is visible in the Galaxy Store, whether it has Widevine L1 for HD, and whether that exact device supports downloads. Netflix’s published information does not provide a complete current list of Galaxy tablets that support downloads.
If you are already considering a replacement, Netflix lists the Galaxy Tab A9+ as HD-capable. That is a compatibility point, not a guarantee about current availability, price, configuration or download support. Verify the exact tablet listing and its software before buying.
