The model-specific details here are for the Japan-market EF1058, as identified by Nestlé Japan’s product information. Check the model code and electrical label on the machine before applying these details to another unit. For the EF1058, Nestlé Japan lists dimensions of approximately 11.2 cm wide, 28.7 cm deep and 27.2 cm high; weight of about 2.1 kg; an 800 ml water tank; and a 1450 W rating. Its electrical specification is 100 V, 50/60 Hz. These are Japan-market specifications, not a safe basis for choosing or powering a machine sold in another country. Check the local model’s label, plug and manual.
Nestlé Japan’s product information lists red metal, space gray and white, while its product page’s current bundle listing shows red metal and space gray. That difference is a reminder that colors and bundle contents can change by listing. The product page showed a suggested price of ¥21,780 including tax when checked for this review; it is a dated Japan-market listing, not a guaranteed current price or an international price.

Controls and scheduled brewing
Nestlé Japan lists automatic stopping, hand-drip mode, temperature adjustment and scheduled brewing for the EF1058. Its product page also describes app pairing for adjusting extraction amount and temperature, saving recipes and setting a timer. These are manufacturer-described features, not evidence that pairing is effortless, that the app works reliably on every phone, or that support will continue for every device.
Using the machine
Nestlé Japan depicts a straightforward sequence: insert a capsule, select the temperature and amount, then touch the brew control. Automatic stopping is intended to end preparation at the selected amount. The official description establishes the controls, but does not provide independent measurements of brew temperature, preparation time or cup quality.

The Touch is the clearest fit if you value a touch panel and, in the Spanish comparison, the additional adjustments over standard Genio S. If those controls are not priorities, compare the exact local S and S Plus listings, including price and bundle, rather than choosing by name alone.
Which capsules work, and what will ownership cost?
Nestlé Japan places the EF1058 in the Dolce Gusto Original system and links its capsule range. Capsule choice determines which drinks are available and creates a recurring consumable cost on top of the machine purchase. The available sources do not establish a current capsule price and serving count for a reliable per-cup calculation; check local pack pricing and the recipe’s capsule requirements before estimating ongoing spend.

The Spanish Touch listing says that its machine works with Original capsules and mentions a NEO Start adapter as another route in that market. That does not establish universal NEO compatibility. Verify the precise machine and capsule catalog in your country. Nestlé Japan also links a capsule subscription as a purchasing option; confirm that it is currently available and review its local terms before signing up. Included starter capsules, if any, depend on the seller and bundle.
How do you clean and descale it?
After making a drink
Nestlé Japan advises rinsing the capsule holder after use. Remove the used capsule and rinse the holder as directed in the manual for the exact model. For setup, cleaning or a fault, use the local model-specific instructions rather than assuming a video or guide for a similarly named variant matches your machine.

Descaling and troubleshooting
NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto Spain recommends descaling its machine every two to three months with its descaling kit. That is a Spain-market recommendation, not a universal interval; follow the local manual for your machine and water conditions. The UK documentation index lists separate Genio S Touch manuals for Krups and De’Longhi, and the UK De’Longhi care page provides variant-specific support material.
For a no-water-flow problem, the Spanish FAQ advises trying the machine without a capsule and, if the problem persists, cleaning the injector with the provided cleaning needle. Treat that as guidance for the Spanish-described variant; consult your own manual before attempting maintenance.
What the available evidence does—and does not—say
The manufacturer pages establish listed specifications and advertised controls, but do not provide independent measurements of taste, brew speed, operating noise or long-term reliability. This is therefore a feature and ownership review, not a hands-on performance verdict.
