Neighbors: Suburban Warfare is now free to play. Developer and publisher Invisible Walls launched version 1.0 on September 29, 2026, bringing the game to Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation with cross-play, according to the developer’s launch announcement. It is an online party brawler with both PvE and PvP—not a co-op-only game.
What is Neighbors: Suburban Warfare?
Steam describes it as a chaotic online multiplayer party brawler. Players team up in PvE and PvP matches, defend their homes with traps and gadgets, and attack rival houses. The Steam listing identifies Invisible Walls as both developer and publisher, and marks the game as free to play with online PvP and in-app purchases.

Is the game really free?
Yes. The developer announced that the game became free to play with version 1.0, and Steam labels it “Free To Play.” Steam also indicates that in-app purchases are available. The listing reviewed does not establish current prices, what individual purchases include, or whether any purchase is needed to play, so check the live store page for current details.
What are players saying about the launch?
A Steam snapshot accessed October 7, 2026 showed 848 English-language user reviews overall, with 65% positive, and 545 recent English-language reviews, with 44% positive. Review counts and percentages change; check the live Steam listing for the latest figures.
An October 6, 2026 syndicated summary from OpenCritic of a Game Rant article reported visual and performance problems and said the Steam rating had taken a hit. That is secondary reporting, not an independent technical test, so it should be treated as reported player-reception concerns rather than a verified performance assessment.

Should you try it?
If you want an online party brawler that mixes cooperative PvE with competitive PvP, Neighbors: Suburban Warfare is free to start on Steam and also launched on Xbox and PlayStation with announced cross-play. Its free-to-play status does not mean the game has no in-app purchases, and the launch-period review picture is mixed; check current reviews and the store listing before deciding.
