1. Check whether NBA 2K services are having a problem
Open 2K’s NBA 2K Server Status page while the error is happening. Check the entry for your platform and the relevant game mode. If a problem is reported, wait for service to recover and try MyCAREER again rather than repeatedly changing settings on your device.

2. Complete and verify your 2K account
Sign in to your 2K Account and review any prompts for missing information. Confirm that the email address on the account is verified. 2K’s account troubleshooting guidance says connection errors can be related to account age, email, or verification status, and notes: “This can be caused by an incomplete 2K Account.”

3. Make sure the platform account is linked to the intended 2K account
If you have more than one 2K account, check that your PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or other platform account is connected to the one you intend to use. An account linked to the wrong 2K profile can prevent access to account-connected features.
- Sign in to the 2K Account portal and open its Connections area.
- Check which 2K account is connected to your platform account.
- If it is connected to the wrong 2K account, follow 2K’s account-link instructions to unlink it, sign in to the correct account, verify that account’s email, and relink the platform account.
- Restart the game and test MyCAREER.
Read 2K’s instructions before unlinking. Platform-account links can have restrictions, including for PlayStation accounts, and unlinking may not be available or work as expected in every situation. Take particular care with child accounts.

4. If the message remains, use 2K’s network-support route
When status is clear and your account details and link are correct, use the network troubleshooting links on the official server-status page or submit a support request from there. Include your platform, region, the exact error wording, and when it appeared. This gives support useful context without assuming the cause is your home internet or hardware.
Why it can happen even when your internet works
A working internet connection does not rule out a game-service interruption or an account-verification or account-link issue. The message alone does not identify which one is responsible. 2K’s official sources document general account and connection checks, but do not establish a single cause or an exact NBA 2K27 remedy for this message.

NBA 2K27’s PC system requirements and troubleshooting page says broadband is required and that first installation needs a one-time internet connection for Steam authentication; it does not say a new router, cable, drive, or other accessory resolves this MyCAREER error.
