Axios Pro reported that it raised a $42 million Series B, and the company says it serves “1,000+” companies. The headline detail that Scale led the round is not confirmed. The reporting we could find supports the amount and the stage, but not the lead investor, and we found no official financing announcement.
What is established about the funding
- Amount and stage: Axios Pro reported that Namespace raised $42 million in Series B funding. A secondary funding index lists the same figure and points back to the Axios report, so it is not an independent confirmation.
- Lead investor: Neither source we retrieved names Scale as lead. Treat “led by Scale” as an unverified claim until Namespace or the investors publish an announcement.
- Not covered: We found no confirmed valuation, closing date or full investor list.
What Namespace says it does
Namespace’s homepage describes a platform for coding, building and testing across Mac, Windows and Linux. It lists compute, storage and networking as the underlying stack, and names Devbox and GitHub Actions as its products. Everything in this section is company positioning. We did not test the products.

Devbox: environments for coding agents
The Devbox page, headlined “Your agents need a Devbox,” describes a full development environment for an AI coding agent. It is a VM that holds the codebase, test suite, databases and network access. According to Namespace, you can set machine size, operating system, base image and Git repository through an SDK, a CLI or a UI. The page also highlights security controls and interactive debugging, which lets a person step into the environment an agent is using.

Hosted GitHub Actions runners
The GitHub Actions page, headlined “Actually the fastest way to run your GitHub Actions,” presents Namespace as an observable drop-in replacement for GitHub’s own runners. Features it describes:

The numbers Namespace publishes
| Claim | Source and context | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000+ companies | Namespace homepage, accessed October 5, 2026 | Company-reported customer count; “companies” is not the same as paying accounts. |
| 55% lower CI cost | Namespace’s ClassPass case study | One customer’s result, not a typical outcome. |
| 4x faster GitHub Actions | Namespace’s Warp case study | One customer’s result; the same page says Warp runs 20,000 sandboxes a month. |
The homepage also reproduces two testimonials. Aloke Desai, Head of Product Engineering at Warp, says: “Namespace is the best dev infrastructure tool I’ve used in years. We run everything from our CI to Oz, our cloud agent platform, on Namespace, and I could not recommend it enough.” Conrad Irwin, Software Engineer at Zed, says: “We evaluated many options, and Namespace is the only one that could deliver the performance our iOS team needed.” Both are vendor-selected quotes, not independent reviews. We found no independent benchmarks or regulator, analyst or expert commentary on the company.

How to judge whether it fits your team
Namespace’s pages speak to several areas where hosted CI and agent-environment services differ. Test each against your own workload rather than the case studies:
- Platform coverage: Do you need Windows, Mac or arm64 runners? Namespace lists support, but confirm your exact combination.
- Performance: Measure cold-start time and build time on your real pipelines, with caches both warm and cold.
- Caching behavior: Check whether dependency, Docker-layer and repository-mirror caching helps your build pattern.
- Debugging and observability: Check how well the logs, metrics and interactive access work for failures you actually see.
- Network and security controls: This matters most for Devbox, where an agent has a VM with network access to your codebase.
- Integration effort and total cost: We could not establish Namespace’s pricing, so get a quote or trial figures before comparing.
We did not benchmark Namespace against competitors, so no ranking is implied.
