Namecheap Reseller Hosting can make sense for a small agency that wants to sell branded hosting through separate cPanel accounts and manage them in WHM. Its value comes down to whether a plan’s account and storage limits fit your clients—and whether you have budget for billing and support software beyond the hosting plan. The published plan details do not establish reseller-specific uptime, speed, or support quality, so treat those as open questions rather than proven strengths.
What Namecheap Reseller Hosting includes
Reseller hosting lets you buy a pool of hosting resources and sell hosting to clients under your own brand and pricing. Namecheap provides WHM for reseller administration and separate cPanel accounts for clients. The listed plans include cPanel/WHM and unmetered bandwidth. Namecheap’s reseller page and package comparison describe the service and plan limits.

WHM and WHMCS are different tools. WHM is used to administer hosting accounts; WHMCS is a separate system for client management, billing, and support. Namecheap’s getting-started guide describes WHMCS and its registrar module, but do not assume a WHMCS license is included. Confirm any software cost and renewal terms before estimating your margins.

The vendor’s plan page listed the following monthly prices and capacities when checked on October 7, 2026. An independent iTechGuides review rechecked the same tiers and capacities in September 2026. Verify price, billing term, guarantee conditions, and availability at checkout.
#1 Best Overall
| Plan | Monthly price listed | cPanel accounts | SSD storage | Bandwidth |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nebula | $19.88/month | 25 | 30 GB | Unmetered |
| Galaxy Expert | $39.88/month | 100 | 90 GB | Unmetered |
| Universe Pro | $58.88/month | 150 | 150 GB | Unmetered |
Namecheap lists free cPanel/WHM and a 30-day money-back guarantee for all three plans. The guarantee’s conditions and the current checkout terms should be checked before purchase.
How to decide whether a plan fits
Estimate account count and growth
Choose based on the number of separate client cPanel accounts you expect to host, with reasonable room for growth. Namecheap says the account limit assigned to each plan cannot be increased. Its comparison documentation points customers needing more than 150 resold accounts toward VPS or dedicated hosting.
Check storage against actual use
Compare total plan storage with the combined needs of client websites, mail, and backups. The listed capacity is shared across the reseller account, so a plan’s maximum account count does not mean every client can use an equal share without exceeding the total.

Check workload and policy limits
“Unmetered bandwidth” does not mean unlimited use of server resources. Namecheap’s Hosting Acceptable Use Policy sets inode limits and restrictions for some file types on shared and reseller servers. It also says sustained use of higher burstable resources can require a move to a package with greater resource availability, and reserves discretion to address use it considers inappropriate.
Rank #3
- Orders are despatched from our UK warehouse next working day.
If your clients have large media libraries, heavy databases, unusually high traffic, or resource-intensive applications, review the current policy and ask Namecheap whether those workloads are permitted before committing.
Include operating software in your costs
If you need automated client onboarding, billing, or support workflows, price the software separately. A Namecheap Staff notice dated December 26, 2025 said updated WHMCS renewal prices for reseller, VPS, and dedicated server customers would take effect January 8, 2026. That notice confirms a price change, but not the current license price. Check the applicable license tier and renewal amount directly before calculating what you would charge clients. Namecheap’s WHMCS and hosting price notice provides the announcement.
How to start reselling hosting with Namecheap
- Estimate your client portfolio. Count the separate accounts you need now, allow for expected growth, and estimate shared storage needs for sites, mail, and backups.
- Check policy fit. Review the acceptable use policy and ask the provider about any unusually resource-intensive client workloads.
- Select a tier. Compare the listed account and storage limits with your estimate, then confirm current pricing, billing terms, guarantee conditions, and availability on the reseller plan page.
- Plan client operations. Use WHM for hosting administration. If you need automated billing, client management, or support, evaluate a separate system such as WHMCS and confirm its current license and renewal cost.
- Set your own offer and support process. Namecheap supplies the hosting platform; you set your client pricing and remain responsible for defining what you sell and how clients reach you for help.
What is—and is not—established about performance
The independent iTechGuides review is a useful cross-check of the listed prices and features, not an uptime test. TechRadar’s May 2026 review reports performance observations for Namecheap hosting plans it tested and describes them as steady but not especially fast; that coverage is not specific to reseller servers and cannot predict results for a particular client workload. TechRadar’s Namecheap review does not establish reseller-specific performance.

No cited source here supplies reseller-specific testing methodology, measured uptime, or comparable support-response data. Do not treat general hosting observations or anecdotes as proof of how a reseller account will perform. If those factors are decisive, ask Namecheap about the relevant service commitments and assess the service against your own clients’ needs.
Who should consider it—and who should look elsewhere
A plausible fit
- A web developer or small agency already maintaining client sites.
- An operator who wants separate cPanel accounts under its own brand and can stay within the selected plan’s account and resource limits.
- A business prepared to manage client relationships and budget separately for billing or support automation if needed.
A weaker fit
- An operation that needs more than 150 accounts on the listed tiers; Namecheap directs larger account needs toward VPS or dedicated hosting.
- A portfolio with high-resource workloads that may exceed shared or reseller policy limits.
- A buyer expecting a turnkey client billing and support system at no additional license cost.
Verdict: Is Namecheap Reseller Hosting worth it?
It is worth considering if the account and storage limits fit a modest client portfolio, you want a WHM workflow with separate branded cPanel accounts, and you have accounted for any separate billing software. It is not an automatic value for every reseller: scaling beyond the listed account caps changes the hosting model, while workload limits and unverified reseller-specific performance and support outcomes make it important to confirm fit before selling it to clients.
