NAD M33 V2 Review: Is This One-Box Hi-Fi System Worth the Premium?

The NAD M33 V2 is a powerful, feature-rich integrated stereo amplifier designed to replace several separate components: it combines amplification, network streaming, a DAC, an MM/MC phono stage, HDMI eARC, and room correction. Its appeal is strongest when that consolidation fits your system; the high price, limited included Dirac correction, and relatively modest analogue-input count make it less compelling if you do not need its breadth of features.

What the NAD M33 V2 does

The M33 V2 is a two-channel integrated amplifier in NAD’s Masters Series. Connect passive speakers and it can also serve as your streamer, digital-to-analogue converter, turntable preamp, and television audio hub. BluOS provides network streaming and multi-room capabilities, while two subwoofer outputs and adjustable crossovers support subwoofer integration. NAD’s product page lists the complete feature set.

This is a system-consolidation proposition, not simply a high-wattage amplifier. It can suit a listener building a premium stereo system around one central component, but a buyer with separate components already in place should compare the M33 V2’s inputs and functions against the cost of keeping or replacing those components.

Power and specifications: what the numbers tell you

NAD rates the amplifier at greater than 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and greater than 380 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with both channels driven under the company’s stated measurement conditions. In bridge mode, NAD lists greater than 700 watts into 8 ohms. These are manufacturer ratings, not independent laboratory measurements.

Specification What NAD lists Practical context
Output, stereo Greater than 200 W/channel into 8 ohms; greater than 380 W/channel into 4 ohms Substantial rated output, though speaker matching also depends on the speaker’s impedance and sensitivity.
Output, bridged Greater than 700 W into 8 ohms A separate operating configuration; check NAD’s requirements and speaker compatibility before using it.
THD Below 0.003% from 1 W to 200 W into 8 and 4 ohms Manufacturer specification, not an independent measurement.
Signal-to-noise ratio Greater than 120 dB, A-weighted, at 200 W output into 8 ohms The stated output condition matters when interpreting the figure.
Chassis and weight 435 × 133 × 396 mm (17 1/8 × 5 1/4 × 15 5/8 in); 9.7 kg (21.4 lb) Allow room for the chassis, ventilation, rear cable access, and safe lifting.

The headline power figures do not by themselves establish how the M33 V2 will perform with a particular speaker in a particular room. Consider speaker load, listening distance, desired volume, and placement together, and consult the speaker and amplifier manuals when checking compatibility.

Inputs and streaming for a mixed-source system

For digital and network playback, the M33 V2 includes an ESS ES9039PRO DAC, BluOS streaming, AirPlay 2, and two-way aptX HD Bluetooth 5.0. NAD lists wired Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 5, and USB Type-A for storage and supported peripherals. Its published format support includes FLAC, MQA, WAV, and AIFF up to 192 kHz and 16–24 bit. Listed streaming services include Amazon Music, Deezer, Qobuz, Spotify, and Tidal; service availability and support can change by region and over time.

NAD T 758 V3i 7.1-Channel Network A/V Receiver – 7×60 W, Dolby Atmos & DTS:X, 4K/60p HDR UltraHD HDMI, BluOS Wireless Streaming & AirPlay 2, Dirac Live Room Correction
  • Immersive Surround Sound – 7×60 W of clean, controlled power brings movies, music, and games to life. Every whisper, explosion, and musical note is precise, creating a cinematic experience in your own home.
  • Cinema-Quality Audio Formats – Supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and DTS Master Audio, decoded with high-speed multi-core DSP. BluOS also plays Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) files for audiophile-grade music.
  • Stunning UltraHD Video – Experience 3840×2160 resolution at 60fps, full 4:4:4 color, and HDR. Analogue sources convert to HDMI for a simple one-cable setup, delivering crisp, vibrant visuals without clutter.
  • Dirac Live Room Correction – High-end digital room correction adjusts for timing and coloration, creating a perfectly balanced listening environment. Usually reserved for ultra high-end gear, now built into your T 758 V3i.
  • Built-In BluOS & Modular Design – Stream lossless music from local libraries or internet radio, sync with other BluOS devices, and control via AirPlay 2. Modular Design Construction (MDC) lets your system evolve as new audio/video formats emerge.

For other components, the unit has balanced XLR inputs and outputs, HDMI eARC for a television, and a moving-magnet/moving-coil phono stage with an infrasonic filter. That combination can cover a turntable, TV, network playback, and compatible balanced equipment without a separate phono preamp or DAC. The caveat is input quantity: AVForums reviewer Ed Selley noted that the analogue-input count is lower than on some rivals. If you own several analogue sources, count the connections you actually need before choosing a one-box system.

Dirac Live: what is included and what costs extra

NAD includes a calibration microphone and a Dirac Live Limited Bandwidth license that corrects up to 500 Hz. This is not the paid Full Bandwidth license. Dirac lists Full Bandwidth Room Correction and Bass Control as optional upgrades for the M33 V2, and says Bass Control requires Room Correction; Dirac lists ART as unsupported for this model. See Dirac’s M33 V2 page for licensing details.

NAD C3030 Integrated Stereophonic Amplifier – 50W x 2 HybridDigital Amp with PCM5242 DAC, MM Phono Stage, HDMI eARC, Bluetooth aptX HD & Dual VU Meters
  • HybridDigital Amplification – Advanced HybridDigital design delivers low-distortion, high-current power with precise control across real-world speakers. A custom-designed power supply provides rock-solid voltage regulation and a noise-free foundation.
  • Stereophonic 2-Channel Power – Dedicated left and right channels deliver 50W per channel into 8Ω, with over 100W of dynamic headroom for clean, detailed stereo playback. Perfect for driving a wide range of speakers with accuracy.
  • Dual Analog VU Meters with Heritage Design – Retro-inspired styling with dual illuminated VU meters and the classic cursive NAD logo provides visual feedback of music dynamics while adding character and authentic HiFi presence.
  • High-Fidelity Analog & Digital Playback – Ultra-low-noise analog buffers preserve every nuance of vinyl and CD sources. The MM phono stage features precise RIAA equalization and infrasonic noise suppression. On the digital side, a Texas Instruments PCM5242 DAC ensures dynamic, jitter-free, lifelike sound.
  • Compact, Flexible System Design – Space-saving chassis and understated detailing make it easy to place on shelves or in media units while blending into modern interiors. Includes bass-managed subwoofer output, front-panel headphone output, and remote control.

At the time Dirac’s page was accessed on October 7, 2026, it displayed $99 for Full Room Correction and $299 for Bass Control. Those are time-sensitive software prices, not guaranteed current prices. The dual subwoofer outputs and adjustable crossovers make bass integration relevant to this amplifier’s feature set, but they do not guarantee a particular result in a specific room or subwoofer setup.

What changed from the original M33?

NAD describes the V2 as an update with second-generation Eigentakt amplification, an upgraded ADC architecture, and an ESS ES9039PRO DAC. The company also highlights MQA Labs FOQUS and QRONO processing, which it says addresses timing errors. That is NAD’s engineering rationale; the listed technologies do not establish an audible benefit for every listener.

NAD D3045 Hybrid Digital Amplifier
  • 2 x 60W Hybrid Digital Amplifier with low distortion and high current capability.
  • Two-Way Bluetooth powered by Qualcomm aptX HD audio for high-quality wireless streaming.
  • Asynchronous USB 24/192 Input supporting MQA and DSD for high-resolution digital music playback.
  • HDMI Audio Return Channel for easy connection to your TV.
  • Coax and Optical Input, MM Phono and Line Input, Preamp Out, and Sub Out for increased connectivity options.

AVForums reviewer Ed Selley’s review, published February 24, 2026, calls the V2 magnificent but says it is not a night-and-day difference from the original M33. Selley also notes that the new model retains the original’s basic power figures. For an owner of the first-generation unit, the upgrade case therefore rests on the specific revised processing and architecture, rather than a wholesale change in the product’s role or rated power.

How the independent review describes its sound and usability

Selley rated the M33 V2 10/10 and described it as “Best In Class.” In the review, he reports using a selection of test speakers and praises its bass extension and agile handling of fast material. Those are the reviewer’s listening impressions, not measurements or listening tests conducted for this article. His stated strengths include sound, connections and features, and build quality; he also identifies the high cost, a remote that could be more useful, and the possibility of accidentally turning the unit off as drawbacks. Price, availability, and whether it suits your system

Price and stock depend on market and date. AVForums listed a £4,999.99 MSRP in its February 24, 2026 review. NAD’s U.S. product page displayed $7,399 and “Sold Out” when accessed on October 7, 2026. These are separate regional listings, not a like-for-like price comparison, and the displayed U.S. availability may have changed.

The M33 V2 is most persuasive if you want its combination of substantial rated power, streaming, phono, TV connectivity, and room correction in one chassis. It is harder to justify if you will leave many of those features unused, need more analogue inputs, or already own capable separate components. Before buying, compare complete system cost and verify that the streaming services, physical connections, room-correction tier, and speaker compatibility match your needs.

Check these points before buying

  • Confirm your speakers’ impedance and sensitivity against the amplifier’s ratings and your listening needs.
  • Count required digital and analogue inputs, including the turntable and TV connections.
  • Check that your preferred streaming services and multi-room setup are supported in your region.
  • Decide whether correction limited to 500 Hz is sufficient or whether you would pay for optional Dirac features.
  • Measure the shelf or rack for the 396 mm chassis depth, cable clearance, and ventilation; plan for lifting a 9.7 kg component.
  • Verify current local price and stock with the manufacturer or an authorized dealer.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
