Its Basic plan is a data-center-IP option; Plus adds residential IPs and city selection; Pro adds a malware blocker. The vendor’s current plan and feature descriptions are clear, but current-app performance and leak protection are not independently established here. I did not install or test the current app, so this is a pricing and evidence-based review—not a hands-on test.
What Mysterium VPN is—and which app this review covers
This review covers the subscription-based Mysterium VPN app that the company describes as its next-generation app, introduced on February 19, 2026. Mysterium says independent network participants provide residential connections that subscribers can use as exit IPs. The company describes payments to peers and a share returning to the network community; those are vendor descriptions of how its network works, not independent verification of every node or transaction.

Do not confuse this product with Mysterium Dark. The help center describes Dark as a separate, legacy pay-as-you-go app using a MYST token wallet. The current subscription app is linked to an email account, and a subscription covers desktop and mobile within the device allowance for the selected plan. Older references to crypto micropayments or Dark’s platform lineup do not establish how the subscription app works.
How much does Mysterium VPN cost?
The vendor’s pricing page, accessed October 5, 2026, lists the following US-dollar prices. VAT may apply, and prices or offers can change. Annual and two-year monthly figures are equivalents: the full term is billed upfront.

| Plan | Monthly billing | One year, billed total | Two years, billed total | Devices at once | What stands out |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $10.49/month | $3.69/month equivalent; $44.28 total | $2.59/month equivalent; $62.16 total | 6 | Data-center IPs; no residential IPs or city-level choices listed |
| Plus | $13.49/month | $4.29/month equivalent; $51.48 total | $2.99/month equivalent; $71.76 total | 10 | 7,500+ residential IPs advertised; city-level choices |
| Pro | $18.49/month | $6.99/month equivalent; $83.88 total | $4.79/month equivalent; $114.96 total | 15 | Plus features and a malware blocker |
The vendor also lists 100+ countries for Plus and Pro. The advertised IP and country counts are company figures, not an independently audited count of live, available nodes. The lowest advertised rate—$2.99 per month—is the two-year Plus equivalent, not the price for month-to-month Plus, which is listed at $13.49.
Refund terms
The pricing page lists a 7-day money-back period for monthly and one-year terms, and 30 days for two-year terms. Its stated condition limits eligibility to usage under 10 GB, and other terms apply. Treat this as a conditional refund policy, not an unconditional guarantee; check the current terms before purchase.

- 【Keep your Internet Safe】IPv6 supported. OpenVPN & WireGuard pre-installed, compatible with 30+ VPN service providers. Cloudflare encryption supported to protect the privacy.
Which plan makes sense?
- Choose Basic if data-center IPs are sufficient and the lower device allowance works for you. The listed Basic plan does not include residential IPs or city-level selection.
- Choose Plus if residential IP access or city-level location choice is the reason you are considering Mysterium. It raises the simultaneous-device allowance to 10.
- Consider Pro if you want the malware blocker included with Plus features and need up to 15 simultaneous devices. The vendor’s plan description does not establish how the blocker compares with a dedicated security product.
Compare the upfront term total, not only the displayed monthly equivalent. A longer term reduces the equivalent monthly price but commits more money at once; that trade-off matters particularly when current-app performance has not been established by repeatable independent testing.
Apps, extensions and protocol support
The current downloads page lists full apps for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. It says desktop and mobile apps include a kill switch, DNS leak protection, WireGuard and access to residential IPs through the decentralized network. These are vendor feature claims, not results verified in this review.

- Commercial-grade Security Anywhere – Protect your home network with AiProtection Classic, powered by Trend Micro. And when away from home, ASUS Instant Guard gives you a one-click secure VPN.
Browser extensions are listed for Chrome, Brave, Opera and Opera GX. According to the vendor, an extension routes browser traffic only; it does not provide residential IP access or the full app feature set, and it lacks the kill switch. An extension should therefore not be treated as a substitute for a full-device VPN app.
The help-center FAQ says WireGuard and OpenVPN are available, except OpenVPN on Android. The current downloads summary emphasizes WireGuard and does not provide a complete protocol matrix for every client. Check the app and platform you intend to use rather than assuming the same protocol choices appear everywhere.

Does Mysterium VPN keep logs?
Mysterium’s no-logs page says it does not log browsing activity, track a user’s IP or store identifying details. The company argues that its decentralized design makes centralized activity logging structurally difficult. These are policy and architecture claims made by the provider, not independent proof of the behavior of every app release, network node or operational process.

- Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands ensure smoother streaming and faster downloads; support VPN server and VPN client¹
- A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²
- Expanded Wi-Fi Coverage: 4 high-gain external antennas and Beamforming technology combine to extend strong, reliable, Wi-Fi throughout your home.
- Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
- Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.
The company also says its app code is public and presents that as an opportunity for inspection. Public code can aid scrutiny, but by itself it does not demonstrate that every distributed app build matches the code, that each node behaves as expected, or that operational systems never retain relevant data. The company says it does not rely on a point-in-time audit. We did not locate a published named audit in the material available for this review; that does not establish that no audit exists.
What decentralization does—and does not—mean for privacy
A decentralized residential exit network is different from a conventional VPN server fleet: the subscriber’s traffic exits through a connection provided by a network participant. That model may be useful when a residential IP is the goal, but it also makes the exit operator part of the trust picture. A VPN tunnel does not make that operator a privacy auditor, and the service should not be treated as making a user anonymous or making interception impossible. HTTPS remains important for protecting the contents of encrypted web sessions between the browser and websites.
What testing evidence is available?
I did not install or test the current Mysterium VPN app. Consequently, this review makes no claim about its October 2026 speed, streaming access, current DNS-leak behavior or successful kill-switch operation.
vpnMentor’s review page, updated May 26, 2026, reports variable speeds and a DNS leak on one tested US connection. That page also describes an older product state, including the absence of an iOS app and features that conflict with the current official downloads page. A separate 2026 analysis warns that some independent tests may predate a July 2026 app. The May findings are therefore historical, version-sensitive warning signals—not test results for the current client or a basis for estimating typical performance.
No independent current-app speed baseline or repeatable current-client test series is established by the available evidence. Anyone for whom speed or leak protection is decisive should test the exact current app, device, node and location they plan to use, and avoid interpreting one connection or one run as a service-wide result.
Quick Recap
Who should consider Mysterium VPN?
- A potential fit: someone whose specific priority is access to residential IPs or city-level selection, and who accepts the provider’s decentralized-node model and the need to verify performance for their own use.
- A weaker fit: someone choosing primarily on independently verified current speed, a published named audit, or demonstrated current-client leak-test results. Those are not established by the evidence discussed here.
- Check before subscribing: the current country and city options, which plan includes the IP type you need, your platform’s protocol choices, the upfront billing amount, VAT and the refund conditions.
