Start by sorting every incoming load into the stream named on the bin, compacting only material the game identifies as bulky, and keeping the unloading lane clear. My Recycling Center 2 is a first-person recycling-center simulation from Darius Bode. You unload customer waste, separate more than 400 possible item types, prepare material for sale or resale, maintain machines and containers, and reinvest cash and satisfaction into a larger yard. The exact bin map, item prices, satisfaction thresholds and best upgrade sequence are not published, so the safest opening strategy is a label-first workflow rather than guessing from an unverified list.
What you do in My Recycling Center 2
The core loop is deliberately physical. Customers bring waste to your facility; you unload it, identify each object, place it in the appropriate stream, compact eligible bulky material, manage the resulting containers and machines, and sell reusable goods. You then use the money and satisfaction generated by the operation to unlock additional waste types, purchase equipment and container upgrades, and expand the yard.

The Steam description presents the goal as designing and expanding a new recycling center in first person. The catalog includes more than 400 different trash items, including waste paper, bulky trash, recyclables and scrap metal. That variety means memorizing a short list of categories is less useful than learning how to read the facility’s labels and checking unfamiliar objects before processing a full load.

The beginner sorting system
Use the visible waste streams as your first decision rule. Separate paper, recyclables, scrap metal, bulky material and any other category accepted by the current containers. Do not send an entire mixed delivery to a compactor simply because it is faster; compacting the wrong stream can waste capacity, destroy a potential resale item or create extra handling work.
Core streams to look for
| Stream | Typical decision | Beginner caution |
|---|---|---|
| Paper | Place paper items in the container labeled for paper or waste paper. | Do not assume every light-colored or flat item is paper; use the in-game label when an item is unfamiliar. |
| Recyclables | Use the general recyclable stream when the object is identified as recyclable and has no more specific destination. | Specific materials may have their own stream in a later unlock, so recheck labels after expanding. |
| Scrap metal | Move metal waste to the scrap-metal container rather than a general compactor. | Heavy objects can slow your route; stage them near the correct container without blocking the unloading lane. |
| Bulky material | Compact only when the game marks the item or load as bulky. | Furniture and large objects may be worth inspecting for resale before crushing. |
| Other accepted categories | Follow the destination named by the current container or management interface. | The sequel’s complete bin map has not been published; verify each new category in the yard. |
A predecessor Steam Community guide illustrates four beginner categories—residential waste, recyclables, timber and bulk trash—and shows wood going into its appropriate bin. Treat that as a useful pattern, not a definitive map for the sequel. My Recycling Center 2 may place items or unlock streams differently, so the label on your current container takes priority over an older guide.
How to identify an unfamiliar item
- Pause the conveyor-like rhythm of the delivery. Set the object down in a safe staging spot instead of carrying it around while the next customer is waiting.
- Read the nearby container labels and management information. Look for the exact stream name, not just a color or shape.
- Check whether it is bulky. Bulky designation determines whether compaction is appropriate; size alone is not a reliable rule.
- Inspect furniture and electronics. The game supports second-hand resale opportunities, so a usable object can be more valuable intact than crushed.
- Process one test item. If the destination accepts it, continue with similar items. If not, recover it before committing the rest of the load.
A reliable first-hour rhythm
- Receive one customer and unload the delivery completely enough to see what you are handling.
- Sort immediately into the labeled streams instead of creating a large mixed pile.
- Move only confirmed bulky material to the compactor.
- Check furniture and electronics for a second-hand sale before any destructive processing.
- Return empty carts, tools or loose objects to a predictable staging point.
- Clear the driving and unloading lane before accepting or unloading the next customer.
This rhythm trades a few seconds of inspection for fewer mis-sorts, less backtracking and less risk of a queue. As you learn the item set, you can carry several matching objects at once, but keep the same label-first rule for newly unlocked waste types.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsKeeping customers moving
Multiple customers can appear at once, and the official store description warns that slow unloading can create a queue. Treat the entrance, loading ramp and immediate unloading area as high-priority logistics space.
Preventing a queue
- Unload the current vehicle before beginning optional yard tidying.
- Keep empty containers and parked equipment out of the approach to the unloading point.
- Stage sorted material close to its destination, but not where the next vehicle must drive.
- Finish a partly sorted delivery before opening another pile unless the current object is clearly blocking access.
- When two customers are present, prioritize the action that frees the unloading lane, not the action that produces the highest theoretical resale value.
When a queue has already formed
- Stop nonessential maintenance and decoration.
- Move the current load into its correct streams as quickly as labels allow.
- Compact only confirmed bulky items; do not gamble on an unfamiliar object while customers wait.
- Clear the lane and process the next vehicle.
- Return to resale inspection and yard organization after the queue is gone.
The game does not publish a numerical penalty for waiting customers, so do not assume a particular cash or satisfaction deduction. The practical consequence that is established is lost unloading throughput and a slower facility.

Compactors, containers and machine upkeep
Compaction is a handling tool, not a universal solution. Use it for material the game identifies as bulky, then monitor the machine’s condition. The store page states that wear can cause compactors to stop working properly. A nonfunctional compactor can turn a short process into a bottleneck, especially when bulky deliveries arrive in succession.
Compactor checklist
- Confirm that the load is eligible for compaction.
- Check the machine condition before a large bulky delivery.
- Keep the approach and output area free of loose objects.
- Schedule maintenance before the machine becomes unreliable, rather than waiting for a complete stoppage.
- If a compactor behaves unexpectedly, remove non-bulky material and test it with a clearly eligible item.
No official source publishes repair costs, wear rates, processing times or the amount of material a compactor can hold. Those values may change with patches, so plan around the visible condition indicator and your observed workflow instead of an assumed timer.
Container management
Containers determine how far you must carry material and how often you must empty or replace them. Configure them so the streams you handle most often are close to the unloading lane, while infrequent or late-game categories can occupy less convenient space. Keep enough clearance for vehicles and compactors; a container that is technically nearby but blocks a route increases walking and driving time.
The management tools let you configure the yard, containers and upgrades. Revisit the layout after unlocking a new waste type because a previously efficient path may become a long detour once another stream is added.
What to upgrade first
There is no published, tested optimal upgrade order. The following sequence is mechanic-based guidance: it reduces the most immediate causes of lost throughput before you spend on capacity or optional expansion.

- [Easy Disassemble] Making incidental repairs quick and easy! Very nice, flexible cable
- [Dont Hesite to Order] 24 hours customer services and professional technology team are standing by
- Protect unloading access. Keep lanes, the loading ramp and customer approach clear. This improves every delivery rather than only one waste stream.
- Maintain the compactor. Wear can make it stop working properly, so reliability is more valuable than a speculative speed improvement when bulky loads are common.
- Improve container placement and capacity. Shorter walking routes and fewer overflow moves reduce handling time. If two upgrades are available, favor the one that removes a repeated trip in your current layout.
- Support resale inspection. Leave enough staging room to examine furniture and electronics before crushing them. A faster compactor does not help if it destroys an intact second-hand item.
- Increase capacity and unlock waste types. Reinvest cash and satisfaction once your basic flow is stable. New streams can increase revenue, but they also add sorting and storage obligations.
- Expand the yard. Take the larger footprint when your current space is creating route conflicts or limiting containers, rather than expanding only to fill unused space.
Use your own bottleneck to break ties. If customers wait at the entrance, improve unloading access. If you repeatedly cross the yard, change container placement or capacity. If bulky material accumulates, prioritize compactor reliability. If valuable objects are being crushed because there is no inspection area, create that space before buying another processing upgrade.

Progression combines cash and satisfaction with new trash types, containers, machine upgrades and yard-management options. Expansion is not just a visual upgrade: each larger operating area changes the distance between delivery, sorting, storage and processing.
The XL expansion
The store listing describes an XL expansion with a large roof and loading ramp for easier unloading. Use that additional covered loading space to separate incoming deliveries from sorted stock. Keep the ramp approach open and place high-frequency containers where a delivery can be unloaded without crossing the yard.
Commercial-waste deliveries
A June 2026 store announcement says that, after the yard expansion, you can obtain the commercial-waste-delivery license. This is a progression gate described by the developer; the announcement does not publish the license cost, exact requirement beyond the expansion, or the cash and satisfaction generated by commercial loads. Treat the license as a new workload, not an automatic profit guarantee, until you understand its item mix and handling demands.
Wheel excavator
Another June announcement adds a wheel excavator for compacting trash in open containers. Its role is different from simply adding another small bin: it lets you handle open-container material with heavy equipment. The available announcement does not state purchase price, capacity, fuel or maintenance figures, so compare it with your actual bulky-material bottleneck rather than assuming it is always the next purchase.

Planning an expanded layout
- Reserve a straight path from the customer entrance to the unloading area.
- Place frequently used streams near the point where deliveries are opened.
- Leave turning room for vehicles and the wheel excavator if you unlock it.
- Separate resale staging from crushing and compacting equipment.
- Keep overflow space for a new waste type so one full container does not block a route.
Resale versus recycling: a simple decision rule
Not every object should go directly into a material stream. Furniture and electronics may be eligible for second-hand resale. Before crushing or dismantling a potentially usable item, move it to a separate inspection area and check whether the game offers a resale action.
Choose resale when
- The object is identified as furniture or electronics and appears intact.
- You have enough staging space to keep it out of the waste flow.
- A resale option is visible and does not delay a waiting customer.
Choose recycling or compaction when
- The item is damaged, clearly marked as waste, or has no resale action.
- It belongs to a confirmed material stream.
- Keeping it for resale would block the unloading lane during a queue.
The game does not publish resale prices or condition thresholds. Make the decision from the current item’s available action and your throughput needs, not from a fixed assumed value.
How to measure whether a layout is improving
Future patches or additional facility layouts may change balance. Compare alternatives with the same practical axes rather than relying on appearance:
| Measure | What to observe | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Unloading throughput | How quickly a customer can unload without crossing another route. | Directly affects queue risk. |
| Walking distance | Trips from unloading to each frequently used container. | Repeated short trips add up over a session. |
| Container capacity | How often a stream fills during normal deliveries. | Low capacity creates overflow moves and blocked space. |
| Compactor downtime risk | Condition and frequency of maintenance interruptions. | Bulky material can accumulate when the machine is unreliable. |
| Second-hand opportunity | Whether furniture and electronics can be staged and sold intact. | Crushing removes the resale option. |
| Truck-route efficiency | Turning room and distance between entrance, ramp and containers. | Vehicles need clear paths as the yard grows. |
| Upgrade cost | Cash or satisfaction required by the specific option. | Determines whether an improvement pays back for your current workload. |
The sources do not provide numerical values for these measures, item prices or profit per load. You can still compare a before-and-after layout by counting trips, noting queue frequency and recording which machines become bottlenecks during a representative run.
System requirements and release status
Steam lists the following minimum Windows requirements:
Best Value
| Component | Minimum listed requirement |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 or newer |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GTX 970 or RX 580 class, with 4 GB VRAM |
| Storage | 18 GB available space |
The official page lists October 14, 2026 as the planned release date but, in the captured listing, still shows the game as not yet available. Because the current date is after that planned date and storefront status can change independently of a planned-date field, check the live Steam page for the purchase and download status before assuming the game has launched. A planned date is not confirmation of availability.
Unknowns to verify in-game
Several details that would be needed for a mathematically optimal build have not been published:
- Exact prices and resale values for individual items.
- Satisfaction thresholds for unlocks and expansions.
- Cash earned per load or per waste stream.
- Control bindings and controller-specific layouts.
- Compactor capacity, wear rate, repair cost and processing time.
- Container capacities and the full sequel bin map.
- The commercial-waste license cost and the wheel excavator’s operating figures.
Do not treat a community list, predecessor guide or a player’s personal route as an official optimal order. Record the values shown by your edition and current patch, especially after balance updates.

Troubleshooting common beginner mistakes
Everything ends up in the compactor
Stop and sort the next item by the container label. Remove furniture and electronics for resale inspection, and reserve compaction for material identified as bulky. A mixed pile is slower to correct than a short pause at the start of a delivery.
The compactor will not process a load
Confirm that the material is bulky, check the machine’s condition and clear its approach and output area. If it still fails with a clearly eligible item, maintenance or a machine-state issue is more likely than a sorting error.
Customers are waiting while the yard looks tidy
Move optional organization and resale work behind delivery handling. Clear the entrance, loading ramp and unloading lane first, then return to improvements that do not affect the next vehicle.
The expanded yard feels slower
Reposition high-frequency containers near the unloading point, preserve vehicle turning space and create a direct route to compacting equipment. More floor area can increase walking distance if it is not configured around the streams you actually process.
