Its article gives £189.05 as the deal price, but elsewhere says the cheapest configuration was £189.95; some sizes or finishes were priced as high as £229. The article compares those prices with a stated £349 reference price. Can Oura Ring 4 help you sleep longer?
It can give you information and a routine prompt, but the evidence here does not show that wearing a ring makes people sleep longer. The six-to-seven-hour increase is the writer’s own reported experience. It should not be read as a result buyers can expect or as evidence that the ring caused the extra hour.

Oura’s Bedtime Guidance uses patterns including high Sleep Scores, low resting heart rates, usual wake times and recommended sleep duration to suggest a bedtime window. How reliable is Ring 4 sleep tracking?
Sleep stages from a ring are estimates. Oura summarizes a 2024 Brigham and Women’s Hospital study that compared consumer wearables with polysomnography, the clinical sleep-study method. In that one-night study of 35 participants, four-stage Cohen’s kappa was 0.65 for Oura, 0.60 for Apple Watch and 0.55 for Fitbit Sense. Kappa adjusts agreement for chance; these results do not mean that Ring 4 will be accurate for every person or every night.

In the same sample, Oura’s reported sensitivity was 68.6% for wake and 79.5% for deep sleep, compared with 52.4% and 50.5% for Apple Watch, and 67.7% and 61.7% for Fitbit Sense. Those are study-specific comparisons, not universal performance guarantees. Oura funded the study, an important qualification when weighing the company’s summary. Its separate explainer also summarizes a 2021 study of 440 nights from 106 people, reporting 79% four-stage and 96% two-stage classification accuracy for the model described there; that is not a direct test of every current Ring 4 wearer. Get the correct size

Know what you are paying for
Ring 4’s sensors include red and infrared LEDs for blood-oxygen sensing during sleep; green and infrared PPG sensors for heart rate, sleep heart-rate variability and respiration rate; temperature sensing; and an accelerometer.
