A podium moment she had dreamed of
She also recalled hearing India’s national anthem at the medal ceremony as a dream-come-true moment. She said she had missed that experience at the Commonwealth Games. In her account, standing on the podium and hearing the anthem made the achievement feel personal as well as sporting.
Her response to comparisons with Mary Kom

“Mere liye Mary di already legend hain. Main unko apne saath compare nahin karna chahti hoon. Unki alag journey hai, meri alag journey hai. Main koshish karti hoon unke jaisa banun aur humare desh ko bahut saare medals dun.” She said she tries to become like Kom and win many medals for India, while recognizing that their paths are different.
