The MSI MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 is a 31.5-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate, DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 and USB-C charging up to 98W. Independent reviewers praise its brighter full-screen image and reduced purple tint in bright rooms, but it remains a premium glossy OLED: reflections, the demands of high-frame-rate 4K gaming and regional warranty terms all matter. It is most compelling if you can use its speed, image quality and flexible connectivity—not if you simply want the cheapest 4K display.
What is the MSI MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24?
It is a flat 31.5-inch monitor built around a 16:9 QD-OLED panel with a native resolution of 3840 × 2160 and a 240Hz refresh rate. MSI specifies a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time, adaptive sync and HDR support. The combination targets PC gamers who want OLED contrast and fast motion without giving up 4K detail.

MSI lists a DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification and up to 1,000 nits peak brightness. Peak brightness is not the same as sustained full-screen brightness: PC Gamer describes 1,000 nits as a small-window HDR peak and gives a 300-nit full-screen rating. That distinction matters when comparing HDR claims or judging how bright a mostly white image will look.

MSI describes the X24 as a fourth-generation QD-OLED design using Penta Tandem technology. Its launch announcement claims 30% higher light efficiency, while DarkArmor Film is said to deliver 40% deeper blacks and 2.5 times better scratch resistance. These are manufacturer claims, not independently established measurements.

- Samsung’s 32” Odyssey G5 QHD Gaming Monitor delivers brilliant visuals for exhilarating gameplay that’s more immersive than ever before.
- QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) boasts incredibly detailed, pin-sharp images.
- With a wide 178° viewing angle, the IPS panel consistently delivers crisp, clear hues from various viewpoints.
- 180Hz Refresh Rate and 1ms response time (GtG) allow fast reactions for ultra-smooth gaming, plus G-Sync compatibility syncs the GPU and panel to reduce choppiness, screen lag, and image tearing.
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadows for added depth.
Reviewers identify two practical improvements: higher full-screen brightness and less of the purple tint QD-OLED panels can show in bright ambient light. PC Gamer reports a 300-nit full-screen rating, compared with 250 nits for the previous generation, and says the filter reduces the tint without eliminating every QD-OLED limitation. TechRadar similarly notes the bright-room improvement, while warning that the glossy coating can make reflections more noticeable.
MSI also lists Uniform Luminance, a customizable HDR curve and OLED Care 3.0. The monitor includes an AI Care Sensor, which distinguishes the MPG model from the related MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24: MSI says the MAG lacks that sensor and lists 15W Type-C power delivery for it, rather than the MPG X24’s 98W. Do not assume specifications transfer between those models—or from older MPG 321URX and 322URX monitors.

How good is it for gaming?
4K at 240Hz
At 3840 × 2160 and 240Hz, the display can show detailed images and refresh rapidly, but using its full refresh rate in demanding games depends on the PC. A graphics card may handle 4K at high frame rates in lighter or competitive games but fall well short of 240 frames per second in graphically intensive titles. Consider the games you play and your GPU before paying extra for a refresh rate you may rarely reach.

MSI rates the panel at 0.03ms GtG and supports adaptive sync. Tom’s Hardware highlights the monitor’s color accuracy and feature set; PC Gamer describes it as bright and fast, while TechRadar reports a strong HDR experience. These reviewer assessments support its gaming credentials, but they are not a guarantee that every game, room or individual unit will look identical.

QD-OLED’s contrast and color are part of the appeal, and the X24’s brighter full-screen rating helps address one common compromise. Still, HDR brightness varies with how much of the screen is bright, and the glossy surface can reflect windows and room lights. A dimmer room can make reflections less intrusive; if you game opposite a bright window, that trade-off deserves particular attention.
Ports and setup flexibility
The connection selection can serve both a gaming desktop and a USB-C laptop. Tom’s Hardware lists two HDMI 2.1 inputs, DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20, USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and up to 98W power delivery, a USB upstream port, two USB downstream ports and a headphone output. The USB-C connection can carry video and charge a compatible laptop, subject to the laptop’s own requirements.

MSI lists OLED Care 3.0 and an AI Care Sensor, tools intended to help manage OLED use. The US store listing specifies a three-year warranty with OLED burn-in coverage. Warranty length and burn-in protection are meaningful considerations for an OLED purchase, but the US listing does not establish the terms that apply in every country. What reviewers liked—and what they questioned
| Source | Reported strengths | Trade-offs or context |
|---|---|---|
| Tom’s Hardware, May 21, 2026 | 4K 240Hz QD-OLED, color accuracy, comprehensive features and a three-year warranty listing. | No integrated speakers; the review lists 0.03ms response and the monitor’s principal connections. |
| PC Gamer, May 12, 2026 | Brighter full-screen rating, reduced bright-room purple tint, and a fast, bright panel. | Calls out the premium price for bargain-focused buyers; 1,000-nit HDR is a small-window peak. |
| TechRadar, 2026 review | Strong HDR, improved full-screen brightness, useful connectivity and warranty coverage. | Glossy coating can increase reflections; its displayed value score is 3/5. |
The reviews broadly support the case for the panel and feature set, while leaving the same practical questions for buyers: whether the price fits the budget, whether the room suits a glossy screen and whether the PC can make meaningful use of 4K at high refresh rates.
Price and availability: treat launch figures as historical
TechRadar reported prices of $1,099 in the US, £999 in the UK and AU$1,799 in Australia, with availability in those markets at review time. These are dated launch-era figures, not current quotes or confirmation of present stock. Check a retailer in your country for today’s price and availability. TechRadar also compared it with an approximately $1,299 Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM Gen3 at the time; that is likewise a dated comparison, not a current price.
Who should buy the MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24?
- Consider it if you want a 32-inch-class 4K OLED for high-refresh-rate PC gaming, value the reported full-screen brightness improvement, and can take advantage of its USB-C laptop connection or wide port selection.
- Think carefully if your room has strong reflections, your PC struggles to run your games at high frame rates in 4K, or you are price-sensitive. The monitor’s advantages may not justify a premium if you will not use them.
- Verify before purchase the current local price, stock, exact model number and warranty terms—including burn-in coverage—in your region.
Verdict
The MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 makes a strong case as a premium 4K 240Hz monitor: reviewers report a brighter full-screen image and reduced QD-OLED tint in bright ambient light, and the MPG model combines DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 with 98W USB-C power delivery. Its case is less persuasive if reflections are hard to control or you cannot benefit from high-refresh 4K. Whether it is worth the premium comes down to those practical fit questions and the price available where you live.
