PC Gamer reported the MSI MAG 346CQ at Best Buy for $219.99, reduced from $289.99, during the October 6–7, 2026 Prime Big Deals event. That makes it a notably inexpensive 34-inch ultrawide from a major monitor brand in the event coverage, but the deal is time-sensitive: check Best Buy for the current price and availability before buying.
What the reported deal includes
The featured model is the MSI MAG 346CQ, a 34-inch ultrawide gaming monitor with a 3440 × 1440 resolution and 180 Hz maximum refresh rate. MSI rates its response at 1 ms MPRT; that is the manufacturer’s MPRT specification, not an independent measurement of pixel-transition times. PC Gamer reported the $219.99 Best Buy price, down from $289.99, on October 6, 2026. The reported price is an event listing, not a guarantee that the offer remains available.

Is the MAG 346CQ a good fit?
What you get for gaming
The 3440 × 1440 resolution gives you a wider workspace and field of view than a conventional 16:9 1440p display, while 180 Hz can make motion look smoother when your computer can deliver high frame rates. The panel is VA, with a 1500R curve. PC Gamer reports a 4,000:1 static contrast ratio and describes VA’s contrast advantage alongside the possibility of slower pixel response than the best alternatives. Treat that as a panel-type tradeoff, not a result from a test of this unit.
#1 Best Overall
- Easily switch between different resolutions and refresh rates, allowing user to adjust settings based on the game
- Immerse in a captivating experience with a 1500R curvature rate
- Deliver ultra-fast response, low latency, and fluid motion clarity for smooth, blur-free gaming with exceptional responsiveness
- Eliminate screen tearing and choppy frame rates with 0.5ms response time
- Enhance eye-catching details through adjustments in contrast and shadows
Brightness and HDR expectations
MSI specifies 300 cd/m² SDR brightness. That is a modest brightness level, so the monitor may be less compelling in a very bright room. MSI labels the feature set “HDR Ready”; that label should not be taken as evidence of a certified, high-end HDR experience.
Stand and extras
MSI lists an anti-glare surface, AMD FreeSync Premium, and VESA 100 × 100 mm mounting. The stand does not offer height adjustment. The listed package includes a DisplayPort 1.4a cable, a power cord, and a quick guide. MSI lists no USB ports and no built-in speakers.
Rank #2
- Rapid VA Panel – Provides 0.5ms (GtG, Min.) response time, optimizes screen colors and brightness
- 200Hz Refresh Rate – Respond faster with smoother frames
- 0.5ms (GtG, Min.) Response Time – Eliminate screen tearing and choppy frame rates
- AI Vision – The new AI Vision technology can not only reveal details in dark areas but also enhance overall brightness and saturate colors
- Less Blue Light – Use a software solution to reduce the light emission in the blue-violet region of the blue light spectrum
Check the ports before choosing a connection
The maximum refresh rate depends on the input you use. MSI specifies two HDMI 2.0b ports, each supporting UWQHD up to 100 Hz, and one DisplayPort 1.4a port supporting UWQHD up to 180 Hz. For high-refresh PC gaming, use DisplayPort. If you plan to connect a console, laptop, or another device over HDMI, check that device’s supported output modes and the refresh rate you expect at 3440 × 1440.

| Model | Event listing and price | Resolution and refresh rate | Panel and curve |
|---|---|---|---|
| MSI MAG 346CQ | Best Buy, $219.99; PC Gamer reported this price on October 6, 2026 | 34-inch, 3440 × 1440, 180 Hz | VA, 1500R |
| Koorui 34E6UC | Amazon, $229.99; PC Gamer October 2026 event roundup | 34-inch, 3440 × 1440, 180 Hz | VA, 1000R |

The event roundup does not establish comparable brightness, input limits, or stand adjustability for those two alternatives, so the listed prices and headline specifications alone cannot settle which is best. Check current retailer listings and the manufacturer specifications for the exact model before comparing.
What to verify before buying
- Confirm the MAG 346CQ is still listed at the price you expect at Best Buy; the $219.99 figure is PC Gamer’s October 6, 2026 event report.
- Make sure your graphics card or other source can drive 3440 × 1440 at the refresh rate you want, and plan to use DisplayPort for UWQHD up to 180 Hz.
- Decide whether 300 cd/m² SDR brightness, VA response behavior, and a stand without height adjustment suit your room and setup.
- If desk placement or an arm mount matters, account for the monitor’s VESA 100 × 100 mm mounting and the absence of USB ports and speakers.
