A Motorola Mobility FCC record identifies wireless earphones under model number T6AB2, while a September 2026 community report links the company’s recent FCC activity to a possible new product. Neither source connects T6AB2 with a retail name, launch date or “moto buds Ultra” branding.
What the leak says
The strongest public evidence is FCC ID IHDT6AB2. The filing identifies Motorola Mobility wireless earphones, model T6AB2, and lists a latest application date of March 12, 2026. An FCC authorization indicates that a device has gone through a regulatory process; it does not, by itself, prove that the product will reach stores or reveal its final marketing name.

A post on the r/motorola community dated September 11, 2026, discusses Motorola Mobility FCC activity involving wireless earphones. That report is useful as a pointer to the filing, but community reporting is not an announcement from Motorola and does not establish that the earphones are an “Ultra” product.
Why “Ultra” is still unconfirmed
Motorola’s official CES 2026 accessory announcement listed four products: moto sound flow, moto watch, moto pen ultra and moto tag 2. It did not mention Ultra earbuds or a new moto buds Ultra model. The company’s wording was: “At CES 2026, the brand introduces the new moto sound flow, moto watch, moto pen ultra and moto tag 2 into the family, offering users new ways to interact with their technology.”

That omission does not rule out a later announcement, but it means the CES release cannot be used as confirmation. At present, “Ultra” is a rumor attached to an unidentified Motorola earphone filing, not an announced product name.

How this would fit Motorola’s existing earbuds
Motorola already sells true-wireless products. A promotion document references the moto buds+ and moto buds pro. Their existence shows that Motorola has an established earbud range, but it does not identify T6AB2 as a successor, premium tier or replacement for either model.

If Motorola confirms an Ultra-branded pair, the meaningful comparison will be against confirmed moto buds products rather than against the rumor’s name. Buyers should look for an official model number and documentation covering:

When could Motorola’s Ultra earbuds launch?
No reliable release window has been published. The FCC application date shows regulatory activity by March 12, 2026, and the community post refers to authorization activity on September 11, 2026. Neither date is a retail launch commitment. Companies can file products well before release, change a product’s name, delay it or decide not to sell it.
There is also no confirmed announcement for “moto buds Ultra.” Until Motorola names the product in an official newsroom post, product page or retailer listing that identifies the same model, any claim that launch is imminent remains speculation.

How much will the new earbuds cost?
No source provides a price for T6AB2 or for a Motorola Ultra earbuds model. A price cannot be estimated responsibly from the FCC filing, and no sales region or currency has been announced. Existing moto buds pricing should not be treated as a guide because the rumored product’s positioning and specifications are unknown.

What readers should watch for next
- Motorola should publish an official product name and model number.
- The company should disclose specifications such as ANC, codecs, battery life and water resistance.
- Retail listings should match the model identified in official documentation.
- Motorola should confirm launch countries, warranty coverage and pricing in each market.
Until those steps occur, the defensible description is “Motorola wireless earphones, model T6AB2,” not confirmed “Ultra” earbuds.
The Bottom Line
The FCC record confirms that Motorola Mobility has authorized wireless earphones identified as T6AB2, but it does not confirm an Ultra retail name, launch date, specifications or price. The September 2026 community report is a lead, while Motorola’s CES 2026 announcement did not announce Ultra earbuds.
