Which phone is faster on paper?
The cited Motorola configuration is the stronger specification fit for buyers focused on processor tier: it lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, compared with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 on Xiaomi’s India page. Motorola also lists 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, versus Xiaomi India’s 8 GB or 12 GB RAM options with 256 GB storage.

These component names and capacities do not establish how much faster one phone feels in a particular app, game, or workload. Real-world results depend on software, thermals, and testing conditions; the listed specifications alone are not a benchmark.
How do the displays compare?
Motorola lists a 6.8-inch 1.5K Extreme AMOLED display with a refresh rate up to 165 Hz. Xiaomi India lists a slightly larger 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with refresh rate up to 120 Hz. Motorola has the higher stated maximum refresh rate; actual refresh behavior can vary with content and settings. A higher maximum is most relevant to people who notice smooth scrolling or use content that can take advantage of it, rather than a guarantee of a visible difference in every task.
Battery and charging: Xiaomi has the larger listed figures
Xiaomi lists a 10,000 mAh battery and 100W HyperCharge on its India and global product pages. Motorola’s UK support specification lists 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, 10W wireless reverse charging, and 5W wired reverse charging, but the cited specification does not state its battery capacity.
On listed battery capacity and wired charging wattage, Xiaomi has the larger number in each category. Motorola’s cited specification, by contrast, includes wireless charging and reverse charging. This is a comparison of the cited pages, not proof that every regional Xiaomi variant lacks wireless charging.
Rank #2
- NEW built-in stylus. Jot notes, edit photos, sketch artwork, and navigate effortlessly with an improved stylus and updated software.
- 6.7" pOLED display and Dolby Atmos. Experience cinema-quality entertainment with over a billion shades of color and multidimensional sound*.
- 50MP Ultra Pixel camera + OIS. Capture sharper low-light photos and smoother videos with an unshakable camera system featuring Optical Image Stabilization.
- 30W TurboPower charging + over a day battery. Get hours of power in just minutes of charging, then work and play with unbelievable battery life**.
- Standout design. Make a statement with its stunning look, modern color, and soft, vegan leather finish.
Xiaomi advertises up to three days of use, but that is a manufacturer claim based on its own testing, not an independently verified outcome. Capacity and charging wattage cannot by themselves tell you how many hours either phone will last; screen use, network conditions, software, and charging conditions all matter.
What is the price difference?
A fair price gap cannot be calculated from the available listings. Motorola’s UK page showed £900 with an £850 displayed offer price for the 16/512 GB configuration when researched. Xiaomi’s cited India specification page does not provide a matching price. The figures come from different markets, and the Xiaomi price evidence needed for a comparison is absent.
Before deciding on value, compare both phones in the same country, at the same time, with the same storage tier and a similar retailer type. Check whether a displayed offer is still active, and confirm taxes, warranty coverage, and the exact regional configuration. Currency conversion would not turn the UK and India listings into a meaningful local price comparison.
Durability, cameras and software: what the cited specs do not settle
Durability
Xiaomi’s global product page lists Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance. Treat those as global-page claims and check the local variant’s specifications and warranty terms before relying on them. The cited Motorola specifications do not provide a corresponding durability comparison.

- Long-lasting battery + TurboPower charging***: Work and play all day with a 5000mAh battery, then get hours of power in just minutes.
Cameras
The cited pages do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. Camera hardware specifications alone would not answer that question; look for a direct comparison using the same scenes, lighting, and software versions before choosing on camera quality.
Software support
Motorola’s UK support specification lists Android 16. The cited Xiaomi pages do not establish a directly comparable software-support commitment, so this evidence does not determine which phone will receive updates for longer. Check the support policy for the exact regional model before buying.
Which phone should you buy?
- Choose the Motorola Signature if the listed Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 16/512 GB configuration, up-to-165 Hz screen, and wireless charging align with your priorities, and its current price in your market makes sense.
- Consider the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max if a 10,000 mAh listed battery and 100W wired charging matter more to you than the higher processor tier and refresh-rate ceiling in Motorola’s cited specification.
- Pause before deciding on price or camera performance if you cannot match local prices and storage configurations, or do not have trustworthy independent testing for your priorities.
For either model, verify the exact regional version, storage, warranty, and current local price. For a more complete value decision, also compare independent camera and performance testing and the local software-security support policy.
