Motorola Signature vs Motorola Edge 70 Max: Specs and Price Compared

The Motorola Signature and Edge 70 Max share a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform, but they target different priorities. Signature pairs a thin design with four 50MP cameras and a stated seven years of Android OS and security upgrades. Edge 70 Max puts more emphasis on battery capacity and a large, high-resolution screen. Neither is the clear choice for everyone, and the available launch prices are not a like-for-like current comparison.

Motorola Signature vs Edge 70 Max: key specs

Price examples European starting MSRP: €999 (Motorola, 2026). Mexico: MXN 29,999 for 16GB/1TB (Motorola, 2026). Spain: €699 launch price for 8GB/256GB (Cinco Días / Smartlife, 2026).

These specifications and prices come from different regions and, in some cases, different configurations. They are reference points, not a uniform regional spec sheet or a current same-market price check.

Performance: same named chip, not proof of identical results

Motorola names the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for both phones in the cited launch materials. That establishes a shared processor platform, but it does not show that their sustained performance, thermals, or gaming results are identical. No comparative performance test is available in the cited sources.

Display: choose between refresh rate and resolution evidence

Motorola describes Signature’s 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED as reaching up to 165Hz and up to 6200 nits peak brightness. The Edge 70 Max’s US support sheet specifies a slightly larger 6.82-inch panel at 1440 × 3168 resolution and 144Hz. The supplied Edge 70 Max specification does not state a comparable peak-brightness figure, so these figures do not establish a brightness winner. Check the exact regional model before buying, since the Edge figures are specifically from Motorola’s US specification.

Battery and charging: Edge 70 Max has the larger stated capacity

Motorola lists the Edge 70 Max with a 7100mAh silicon-carbon battery and estimates up to 73 hours of use. For Signature, Motorola claims up to 52 hours under a median-user mixed-use profile and optimal network conditions. These are manufacturer estimates made under their own methodologies, not results from a controlled head-to-head test; actual battery life depends on use and conditions.

Both are listed with 90W wired charging. Motorola’s Signature launch material lists 50W wireless charging, while the Edge 70 Max US sheet lists 25W magnetic wireless charging. Confirm the local variant and required charging accessories, especially for magnetic wireless charging.

Cameras: Signature has the more fully described system

Motorola describes Signature as having four 50MP cameras, including a Sony LYTIA 828 main camera and a Sony LYTIA 600 periscope telephoto with 3× optical zoom. Its Edge 70 Max announcement highlights a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera, but the cited announcement does not provide a complete camera setup for a direct comparison. The available specifications therefore do not establish an overall camera winner.

Software support: Signature has a stated long-term commitment

Motorola advertises up to seven years of Android OS and security upgrades for Signature. The cited Edge 70 Max specification and announcement do not establish its software-support duration. Do not assume that Edge 70 Max receives the same commitment.

Price difference: the available figures are launch references, not a current comparison

Motorola’s 2026 global announcement gives Signature a European starting MSRP of €999. For Edge 70 Max, Cinco Días / Smartlife reported a 2026 Spanish launch price of €699 for the 8GB/256GB model. The arithmetic difference between those two published figures is €300, but they are not confirmed as matching configurations or current prices. Separately, Motorola Mexico listed Signature at MXN 29,999 for 16GB/1TB; that is a different market and configuration.

For a useful buying comparison, check prices in the same country, on the same date, and for equivalent RAM and storage. Launch pricing can differ from current retail prices, and the listed Signature European starting price does not specify a configuration in the cited announcement.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Choose Signature if you value the documented four-camera system, 3× optical telephoto, higher stated peak refresh rate, or Motorola’s advertised seven-year update commitment.
  • Consider Edge 70 Max if you prioritize its stated 7100mAh battery, larger high-resolution display, and the 90W wired plus 25W magnetic wireless charging combination.
  • Compare local listings before deciding if price is decisive: the available prices are from different sources, configurations, and contexts rather than a current matched pair.

For either model, confirm the exact market variant, memory and storage, charging compatibility, and seller details on the listing. The Edge 70 Max specifications quoted above are specifically from Motorola’s US support sheet.
