The Motorola Signature is the higher-specification phone, with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a 165 Hz AMOLED display, three 50 MP rear cameras, wireless charging and up to seven years of stated software support. The moto g max is the lower-priced option in Motorola India’s listings, with a 7,000 mAh battery, a 120 Hz LCD, a headphone jack and a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4.

In a 2026 India listing snapshot, the Signature was shown at ₹59,999 and the moto g max at ₹25,999—a displayed difference of ₹34,000. These are not guaranteed live prices or a confirmed like-for-like comparison of storage variants. The specifications below come from Motorola support pages for different regions, and Motorola cautions that “Certain specifications may vary by market.”

The Signature price was shown on Motorola India’s homepage. The moto g max figure came from Motorola India’s moto g family listing; treat it as a listing snapshot and recheck the live offer. Motorola’s Signature launch announcement gave a historical starting MSRP of €999 for selected European markets. That launch figure is not a current European offer or a universal price; see Motorola’s launch announcement.

What the spec differences mean in everyday use

Processor and memory

The Signature’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is the higher-tier platform in the published specifications; the moto g max uses a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. That indicates different product tiers, but it does not establish a particular speed advantage in apps or games. No independent, matched benchmark results are available here. Check the exact local storage and RAM configuration before buying, especially because the Signature support page lists multiple configurations while the cited G Max sheet lists one.

  • TurboPower charging and up to 49-hour battery - Get hours of power in just minutes of charging, and nearly two full days of battery life.***
  • 50MP camera system with OIS - Capture sharper low-light photos, smoother videos, and studio-quality selfies with an AI-powered camera system. ****
  • 5G speeds and fast multitasking - Experience unimaginably fast 5G speeds with a MediaTek processor and up to 24GB of RAM with RAM Boost.*****

Display

The Signature combines an AMOLED panel, higher resolution and refresh rate, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The G Max has a larger-than-average 6.72-inch LCD listed at 120 Hz. On paper, the Signature offers the more advanced display specification; the published peak-brightness figures are manufacturer claims, not measurements of sustained brightness under comparable conditions.

Cameras

The Signature has three 50 MP rear cameras, including a dedicated 3× optical telephoto camera and an ultrawide that supports autofocus and macro photography. The G Max lists a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide, with no telephoto module. The additional focal length gives the Signature more dedicated camera options, but hardware specifications alone do not prove that it takes better photos in every scene.

Rank #3
Motorola Signature Dual-SIM 512GB ROM + 16GB RAM (GSM Only | No CDMA) Factory Unlocked 5G Smartphone (Pantone Martini Olive) - International Version
  • 6.8 inches, LTPO AMOLED, 1B colors, 1264 x 2780 pixels
  • 512GB Storage, 16GB RAM
  • Android 16, Qualcomm SM8845 Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (3 nm), Octa-core (2x3.8 GHz Oryon V3 Phoenix L + 6x3.32 GHz Oryon V3 Phoenix M)

Battery capacity and charging

The G Max has the larger rated capacity at 7,000 mAh, compared with the Signature’s 5,200 mAh. Capacity does not by itself determine how long a phone lasts: screen, processor, network conditions and usage also matter. Motorola’s support pages estimate “up to 63 hours” for the G Max and “up to 41 hours” for the Signature; the separate Signature launch announcement says “up to 52 hours.” These are manufacturer estimates from different pages and contexts, not results from a controlled head-to-head test.

Charging is a different trade-off. The Signature lists faster wired charging and 50 W wireless charging; the G Max lists 30 W wired charging and no wireless charging in the cited specification sheet.

Updates and durability

Motorola lists up to seven years of OS and security upgrades for the Signature, compared with two OS upgrades and three years of security maintenance for the G Max. The Signature is also listed as thinner and lighter, with IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H ratings. Do not assume the G Max has equivalent protection: the cited India support sheet does not establish a matching rating.

Which phone fits your priorities?

Choose the Motorola Signature if

  • You want the more advanced published processor and AMOLED display specifications.
  • You value a dedicated optical telephoto camera alongside main and ultrawide cameras.
  • Wireless charging, NFC, Wi-Fi 7 or the longer stated update commitment matters to you.
  • You are willing to pay substantially more at the displayed India prices.

Choose the moto g max if

  • Your priority is a lower displayed India price or a larger rated battery capacity.
  • You want a 3.5 mm headphone jack and dual physical SIM support.
  • You do not need the Signature’s listed telephoto camera, wireless charging or higher-end display features.

These are choices based on published features, not claims of tested performance or guaranteed battery endurance. Before purchase, verify the local model code, configuration, cellular bands, SIM or eSIM support, warranty, seller and whether a charger is included.
