The Motorola Signature is a conventional premium smartphone; the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is a book-style foldable with a larger inner screen. Choose based on whether you value a standard phone shape or an expanded screen for tasks such as reading and multitasking. A precise price difference cannot be established from the available official listings: Samsung publishes a US starting price, but Motorola’s reviewed specification page does not publish a price.
Motorola Signature vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: specs comparison
The main difference is the form factor. The Signature is one-screen smartphone, while the Fold8 Ultra has a cover screen for phone-style use and a larger screen inside. Their display diagonals therefore describe different experiences and are not a simple like-for-like measure.

Which screen and form factor suit your use?
Choose the Motorola Signature for a conventional phone
The Signature keeps the familiar single-screen shape. Its 6.8-inch display is larger diagonally than the Fold8 Ultra’s 6.5-inch cover screen, but it does not open into a tablet-like workspace. This makes the Motorola the more straightforward fit if you primarily want a standard phone display and do not need a fold-out screen.

Choose the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra for an expandable display
The Fold8 Ultra’s 6.5-inch cover screen handles use while the phone is folded; opening it reveals an 8-inch main display. That inner screen is the more relevant advantage for viewing content or working across a larger area. The trade-off is carrying a foldable rather than a conventional smartphone. The listed screen sizes alone do not establish which device is easier to carry or how either performs in everyday use.
How do performance, storage, cameras and battery compare?
Motorola publishes processor, memory, storage, battery capacity and charging figures for the Signature. The cited Samsung US page does not provide matched processor, memory, battery or charging details, so those categories cannot support a complete spec-by-spec verdict here. Nor do published component figures prove which phone is faster or lasts longer: that requires comparable testing under defined conditions.

For storage, Motorola lists 512GB and 1TB variants, while Samsung lists Fold8 Ultra options up to 1TB and says there is no SD card support. Confirm the specific regional configuration before buying. The camera information is also not directly comparable: Motorola lists three rear camera types, while Samsung’s page highlights selected camera capabilities. A reliable judgment about photo quality, stabilization or camera versatility would require complete specifications or comparative testing.
What is the price difference?
Samsung’s US purchase page lists the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starting at $2,099.99 before trade-in. This is a US starting price, not a guaranteed checkout total; taxes, carrier offers, trade-in credits and promotions can change what a buyer pays. See Samsung’s US purchase page.

The reviewed Motorola official specification page does not publish a purchase price. Because the sources do not establish a Motorola price for the same country and storage tier, there is no supported numeric price difference to report. Compare current official prices for equivalent storage configurations in your market before deciding whether the foldable’s price is justified for you; do not treat a third-party or differently configured listing as a like-for-like comparison.
Availability and regional checks
Samsung Mobile Press announced that rollout would begin August 7, 2026, expanding to 106 markets. That announcement does not confirm current stock in every country or the exact configurations offered locally. Check the local product and purchase pages for availability and specifications. The announcement is available from Samsung Mobile Press.
Which is better, Motorola Signature or Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra?
There is no single winner for every buyer. The Motorola Signature is the clearer fit if you want a conventional smartphone and value its listed memory, storage and charging specifications. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the more relevant choice if you specifically want a foldable that opens to an 8-inch screen. The available information does not establish a head-to-head performance, battery-life or camera-quality winner, and it does not support a numerical price-gap calculation.
