What is confirmed about Signature 27 setup?
Motorola’s US Signature 27 page says the phone was unveiled at the Qualcomm Tech Summit and that more information is coming in November. Motorola’s Signature support page lists guides and SIM videos for the Signature family, but does not establish that they cover the Signature 27.

How do I set up my new Motorola phone?
For the announced Signature 27, use the usual Android setup approach as general guidance. Motorola Support says of its general transfer flow, “During setup, you can copy your apps, music, contacts, messages, and more.” That is not a Signature 27-specific promise.

- Prepare both phones. Charge them, keep the old phone available and unlocked, and connect the new phone to the internet. Google says transfer can take from a few minutes to a few hours; this is a general estimate, not a Signature 27 performance guarantee.
- Start setup on the new phone. Follow its on-screen prompts. When asked whether to copy apps and data, choose the copy option and select the old phone or an available Google Account backup.
- Choose a transfer method. Use cable or wireless if offered. Google recommends cable, but documents both options and says they support the same data. For a cable connection, use one that fits both devices and supports data; an adapter may be needed if the connectors differ. The Signature 27’s port and box contents are unconfirmed.
- Review what will copy. Check the selected categories before starting, then allow the transfer to finish. Keep both phones available while it runs.
- Verify before erasing the old phone. Check important contacts, messages, photos, downloads, accounts, and apps on the new phone before wiping, trading in, or giving away the old one.
Which data-transfer method should I choose?

Google’s Android Help says, “You can use the cable or wireless option to transfer data.” Read its Android-to-Android copying instructions for the general setup flow.
What usually transfers—and what may not?
Google and Motorola describe copying common items such as apps and some app data, music, photos, videos, contacts stored on the phone or SIM, text and multimedia messages, most settings, wallpaper, and call history. A transfer is not a complete clone: some items need separate handling, and app data availability depends on the app and Android backup support.

- May need separate copying or setup: downloads such as PDFs, media in hidden folders, apps not installed through Google Play, ringtones, and some settings.
- May not be included in the transfer: app data that Android backup does not support, data belonging to non-Google accounts, and contacts or calendars synced through other services.
- Check account-specific apps: sign in and confirm their data and settings appear as expected rather than assuming the phone copy moved them.
For WhatsApp, make sure its cloud backup is enabled on the old phone. Google says chats and data restore after you sign in to the same account and open WhatsApp on the new Android phone. See Google’s transfer and restore guidance.
How do I transfer data after I’ve already set up the phone?
First check whether the new phone offers a Motorola “Finish setting up” or Android Setup notification; Motorola’s general support material describes this route on some models. It is not confirmed for the Signature 27. Google warns that the copy option may not be available once setup is complete, so do not assume you can restart the full transfer later or factory-reset the phone as a routine fix. Check current Motorola support instructions for your model before taking a step that erases data.

How do I move data from iPhone to Motorola?
- On the iPhone, Motorola’s general guide describes using the Google Drive app to back up photos, contacts, and calendar data to a Google Account.
- On the new Motorola phone, sign in with that same Google Account and follow the setup prompts available on the device.
- Turn off iMessage and FaceTime on the iPhone, as Motorola advises, to avoid missed messages or calls after moving to Android.
Motorola’s “Copy data from old phone” guide describes this general route; it is not confirmed as a Signature 27-specific procedure. The guidance cited here covers photos, contacts, and calendar via Drive, not a guaranteed migration of every iPhone category. Follow the Signature 27’s actual setup prompts and current support instructions for anything else you need to move.
