Motorola Razr 60 Ultra vs Razr 70 Ultra: What Changed, and Is the Newer Model Worth More?

The Razr 70 Ultra is a measured update, not a chipset-generation leap: Motorola lists the same Snapdragon 8 Elite platform and 165 Hz displays for both phones, while the newer model moves to Android 16, has a larger stated battery, and comes with a longer explicitly listed software-support window. At US launch, its MSRP was $200 higher. Whether that premium makes sense now depends on local pricing and the exact regional model.

What changed between the Razr 60 Ultra and Razr 70 Ultra?

Motorola’s published specifications show a handful of meaningful differences, alongside several core specifications that remain similar. Motorola notes that specifications may vary by market, so these figures describe the cited manufacturer pages rather than every regional SKU. See Motorola’s Razr 60 Ultra specifications and Razr 70 Ultra specifications.

Do the displays or processor make the 70 Ultra a major performance upgrade?

Not on the specification sheets alone. Motorola lists the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform in both models, so the Razr 70 Ultra should not be described as a processor-generation leap over the 60 Ultra. Both also have high-refresh-rate inner and cover displays with similar listed resolutions and sizes.

The 70 Ultra’s main-screen peak-brightness figure is higher on paper, but peak figures do not by themselves establish which screen looks brighter in typical use. Measurement methods and regional specifications can differ, and no comparative display test is established here.

Does the Razr 70 Ultra have better battery life?

Its listed capacity is 5,000 mAh, compared with 4,700 mAh for the Razr 60 Ultra—a 300 mAh increase in Motorola’s specifications. That is a capacity difference, not proof of longer real-world runtime: battery life also depends on display use, software, signal conditions, and other factors, and no head-to-head battery test is available.

The listed charging rates are the same for both: 68 W wired, 30 W wireless, and 5 W reverse charging. Check the package contents for your market rather than assuming a charger is included; regional accessories can vary.

Are the Razr 70 Ultra’s cameras better?

The available documentation does not establish that. Motorola’s 2025 launch announcement describes the Razr 60 Ultra as having a triple 50 MP camera system, while the Razr 70 Ultra support page lists two rear cameras: a 50 MP wide camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera. Those descriptions come from different documents and may reflect different regional configurations or ways of counting cameras. They are not a controlled comparison of image quality, and no head-to-head photo test establishes which phone takes better pictures.

How do the US launch prices compare?

Using Motorola’s US launch MSRPs, the Razr 60 Ultra was $1,299.99 and the US-branded razr ultra – 2026 was $1,499.99, a $200 increase for the newer launch model. These are launch prices, not current offers or universal prices. Motorola’s 2025 announcement gives the earlier MSRP; its 2026 announcement gives the newer one.

Why does Motorola call the 2026 phone by a different name in the US?

Motorola’s April 2026 announcement uses “motorola razr ultra – 2026” for the US phone and “motorola razr 70 ultra” for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific. The US naming also omits the “60” in the previous generation’s “Razr 60 Ultra” name. Motorola directed buyers outside the US to local PR teams for local price and availability, so check the regional product name, exact SKU, and local sales information rather than assuming the US label or price applies worldwide.

Which model should you choose?

Choose the Razr 70 Ultra if

  • You want the newer Android version listed by Motorola.
  • The explicitly listed support period—up to 3 years of OS upgrades and up to 5 years of security upgrades—matters to you.
  • You value the larger stated battery capacity and the newer model’s local price premium is acceptable.

Consider the Razr 60 Ultra if

  • It is substantially less expensive where you shop and its published specifications meet your needs.
  • You do not need the newer software version or the 70 Ultra’s stated support window.

Before buying either phone, confirm the local model, memory and storage configuration, network compatibility, included accessories, and warranty. Motorola says specifications may vary by market, and the reviewed US 70 Ultra support page does not state RAM or storage. No independent comparative test establishes that the newer phone runs faster, lasts longer, or takes better photos.
