The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ 5G is the higher-spec option for its reported AMOLED display, extra cameras, larger memory and storage, and faster charging. The Moto g max 5G costs substantially less in the comparison-site snapshots and has a larger reported battery. The choice depends on whether the Edge’s hardware advantages justify a roughly ₹19,480–₹20,400 higher listed price—not on one phone being better for everyone.
Price difference: the Moto g max is markedly cheaper in listed snapshots
Prices vary between the two comparison pages. 91mobiles lists the Edge 70 Pro+ at ₹47,999 via Flipkart and the Moto g max at ₹27,599 via Amazon, a ₹20,400 difference. MySmartPrice lists ₹47,479 and ₹27,999 respectively, a ₹19,480 difference. These are page snapshots accessed on October 7, 2026, not verified live checkout prices. At either snapshot, the Moto g max is the lower-cost choice. The Edge’s premium is most relevant if you will use its display, telephoto camera, higher reported memory and storage, or charging features; paying more does not guarantee better photos or a particular day-to-day speed.

Which screen and performance differences matter?
Display
The panel type and refresh rate are the most meaningful screen distinctions on paper: the Edge is listed with a 144 Hz AMOLED panel, while the Moto g max has a 120 Hz LCD. Both are reported as high-refresh-rate displays, but the Edge has the stronger listed panel specification. The screen sizes differ by only 0.08 inch.
Chip, memory, and storage
The comparison pages list the Edge with a Dimensity 8500 Extreme, 12 GB RAM, and 256 GB storage, against the Moto g max’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, 6 GB RAM, and 128 GB storage. That is a clear capacity advantage for the Edge on paper. It is not a guarantee of a specific app-loading time or gaming experience.
Both comparison sites report a large benchmark gap, but their results differ. 91mobiles reports AnTuTu scores of 2,217,003 for the Edge and 807,683 for the Moto g max; MySmartPrice reports about 2,202,060 and 802,543. MySmartPrice also reports Geekbench multi-core results of 6,786 and 2,385. These are publisher-reported test results, not universal outcomes; software versions, device configuration, and testing conditions can affect scores.

Camera hardware: the Edge adds a telephoto option
Both phones are listed with a 50 MP main rear camera. The Edge adds a 50 MP ultra-wide and a 50 MP telephoto camera, while the Moto g max is listed with an 8 MP ultra-wide and no telephoto module. The Edge therefore offers more camera hardware options, particularly for zoom photography. A megapixel count or extra camera does not by itself establish image quality.
The listed front-camera resolutions are 50 MP for the Edge and 32 MP for the Moto g max. Treat that as a specification difference rather than a conclusion about selfie quality.
Battery capacity versus charging speed
The Moto g max has the larger reported battery capacity: 7,000 mAh versus 6,500 mAh for the Edge. The Edge, in turn, is listed with faster wired charging—90 W against 30 W—and 15 W wireless charging; the Moto g max has no wireless charging listed.

91mobiles reports PCMark battery-test runtimes of 18 hours 15 minutes for the Moto g max and 14 hours 11 minutes for the Edge. This is a result from that publisher’s test, not a promise of real-world screen-on time. Usage, settings, network conditions, and test method all matter.

91mobiles reports IP68/IP69 protection for the Edge and IP64 for the Moto g max. These ratings are worth checking against the manufacturer’s documentation for the exact regional model; a rating is not a substitute for reading warranty terms about liquid damage. The same comparison lists Wi-Fi 7 and NFC for the Edge, versus Wi-Fi 5 and no NFC for the Moto g max. Confirm these features before purchase if they are essential, as configurations can vary by market.
MySmartPrice’s review summaries praise the Edge’s display, performance, and camera versatility while noting battery-life limitations. Its Moto g max summary highlights battery endurance, a smooth display, speakers, and a headphone jack, while noting the LCD and slower charging. These are summaries attributed to MySmartPrice, not independent testing for this article.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Edge 70 Pro+ if
- You want the reported AMOLED panel and higher refresh rate.
- You need the extra listed RAM and storage.
- You expect to use a telephoto camera or value the higher-resolution ultra-wide on paper.
- Faster wired charging or wireless charging matters to you.
- The reported higher ingress-protection rating and newer connectivity options matter, after confirming the regional specification.
Choose the Moto g max if
- Keeping the purchase price lower is the priority.
- You value its larger reported battery capacity and the longer PCMark result reported by 91mobiles.
- You prefer a phone with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, as highlighted in MySmartPrice’s review summary.
- The Edge’s additional camera hardware, memory, and charging features would not justify the price difference for your use.
