The available specifications favor the Motorola on paper: it lists a Dimensity 8500 Extreme and a larger, higher-resolution 6.8-inch AMOLED display. The Galaxy M47’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and 6.7-inch screen are reported by comparison sites rather than the cited Samsung product page. Check the exact regional variant and reviews that test the same configurations if measured performance is decisive.
How do battery and charging compare?
Motorola lists a 6,500mAh battery and 90W wired charging; secondary comparison listings put the Samsung battery at 6,000mAh. This gives the Edge 70 Pro the higher stated capacity, but capacity alone does not determine how long a phone lasts. Screen settings, signal strength, apps, and usage change battery life, and the available figures do not establish a comparable test result.

Software support: Samsung states a longer commitment
Samsung India says the Galaxy M47 receives six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, counted from its first global launch date. Motorola lists up to three years of OS upgrades and security patches for the Edge 70 Pro. On the stated commitments, Samsung offers the longer support window, which can matter if you plan to keep a phone for several years. Check the policy for the country and specific model you are purchasing; the wording and regional terms may differ.

India launch prices and changing retailer listings
Launch prices provide useful context, but they are not current guaranteed prices. A report published on 22 April 2026 said Motorola India announced sales from 29 April, with launch prices of ₹36,999 for the base model and ₹41,999 for the 12GB RAM version. A report published on 29 June 2026 put the Galaxy M47 launch price at ₹22,999, with sales scheduled from 4 July.
Those launch figures are not a like-for-like comparison across RAM configurations, and later listing snapshots differ. A 2026 91mobiles comparison result showed ₹35,999 at Amazon and ₹36,999 at Flipkart for Motorola, and ₹29,749 at Flipkart for Samsung. Smartprix later reported ₹38,990 and ₹26,997 respectively in data marked last updated 12 September 2026. These are dated comparison-site snapshots, not live retailer quotes; seller, configuration, promotion, and timing may account for differences.
