That is an unusually strong endurance result in that test, but it comes with compromises: modest performance for demanding apps and multitasking, limited camera flexibility, no wireless charging, and no protection against submersion.
How long does the Motorola Edge 70 Plus battery last?
Notebookcheck recorded 23 hours and 42 minutes in its Wi-Fi battery test. The reviewer estimated that the phone should last around two days with average use, but that is an estimate, not a guarantee. Screen settings, signal strength, apps, usage patterns and battery age can all affect how long a charge lasts.

The result is a test finding, not a prediction for every owner. Notebookcheck’s review was published on October 1, 2026, and says Motorola Deutschland supplied the test device. The review’s author, Florian Schmitt, summed up the appeal this way: “The Motorola Edge 70 Plus impresses mainly with its battery life.”

Performance is adequate for everyday use, not a standout
The reviewed configuration pairs a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Notebookcheck found ordinary use generally smooth, but said demanding apps and multitasking can overwhelm the phone; it judged the chipset below expectations for the price. Its review table reports 758 points in Geekbench 7 single-core testing, a benchmark result that does not by itself describe every day-to-day task.

The camera system favors its main camera over versatility
The rear cameras are a 200-MP main camera and a 2-MP macro camera. Notebookcheck praised the main camera’s detail and low-light results, but found the overall setup limited, particularly for zoom. The trade-off is camera flexibility rather than evidence that every photo will be poor. The reviewer also noted that the selfie camera can overexpose very bright areas.
Charging is wired only
The phone supports up to 45 W wired charging. Notebookcheck reported that a full recharge took no more than two hours, and lists wired reverse charging up to 7.5 W. There is no wireless charging.

IP64 does not mean protection against immersion
Notebookcheck lists an IP64 rating, but says the phone is not protected against submersion. Those statements are compatible: do not treat the rating as a promise that the handset can be immersed in water. The review describes the chassis as generally well built, while noting that twisting it can produce a noticeable creak.

Notebookcheck described Wi-Fi as comparatively slow based on measurements with its reference router. That is a result under the reviewer’s test conditions, not a guarantee of the speed you will see on your own network.

What else does the review say about the phone?
The reviewed phone runs Android 16 and has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. Notebookcheck described the screen as bright with good color reproduction. Its everyday maximum-brightness measurement was around 1,414 cd/m²; the review also reports higher peaks in small-area HDR conditions, which are a different test situation and should not be confused with the everyday result.
The review reports Motorola’s commitment to five years of security patches through 2031 and three OS updates. The tested unit had August 2026 security patches. These are publication-time details, so check the current update policy and patch level for the specific device before buying.

The review’s specification table also lists microSD expansion up to 1 TB. That may help if the built-in 256 GB storage is not enough, although the capacity of any card you choose is separate from the phone’s tested configuration.
Is the Motorola Edge 70 Plus worth buying for battery life?
It is a plausible choice if long endurance matters more to you than wireless charging, demanding-app headroom or a versatile zoom camera. The measured Wi-Fi result is impressive, but it does not erase those trade-offs. Consider how you use a phone: someone who mainly browses, messages and takes everyday photos may value endurance differently from someone who often games, multitasks heavily or relies on zoom.
