The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion and TECNO POVA 8 5G both have 144 Hz displays, but they make different trade-offs: the reviewed Motorola pairs an AMOLED screen with an ultrawide rear camera, while the POVA 8 5G emphasizes a larger stated battery and a distinctive rear Active Matrix display. In one India listing snapshot, their prices differed by just ₹250. That is not a lasting price or value verdict: the available specifications span different regional models, so check the exact local configuration before choosing.

Display: AMOLED versus LCD, not just 144 Hz
TechRadar lists a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel at 144 Hz and 1272 × 2772 pixels for its Edge 70 Fusion review model. TECNO’s Indonesia page lists a 6.76-inch 144 Hz display at 1080 × 2344 pixels, while Android Central describes its POVA 8 5G review phone as having an LCD panel. Both reviewed configurations therefore share the refresh-rate figure, but that alone does not make their screens equivalent: panel technology and resolution differ, and refresh rate by itself does not establish image quality or battery life.
On paper, the Motorola offers the sharper, AMOLED presentation. Prefer the POVA only if its LCD screen suits you and its other features outweigh the display difference; try the exact regional model if screen quality is a deciding factor.

Cameras: the Motorola has a more versatile rear setup
For TechRadar’s Edge 70 Fusion configuration, the rear cameras are a 50 MP main camera and a 13 MP ultrawide. TECNO’s Indonesia specifications list a 50 MP autofocus camera, and Android Central notes that only one rear module on its review phone is an actual camera. The POVA’s Active Matrix rear display is a separate feature, not an extra camera lens.
The listed hardware gives the Motorola a clear practical advantage if you want an ultrawide option for landscapes, group photos, or tighter spaces. The front-camera figures are 32 MP for the reviewed Motorola and 13 MP on TECNO’s Indonesia page, but megapixel counts alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos. The cited specifications do not provide a like-for-like camera test.

Battery and charging: higher capacity on the POVA, no proven endurance winner
TechRadar lists the Edge 70 Fusion review model with a 7,000 mAh battery and 68 W wired charging. Android Central lists its POVA 8 5G review configuration with an 8,000 mAh battery and 45 W wired charging. The POVA has the higher stated capacity; the Motorola has the higher stated wired-charging rate.

No comparable standardized endurance test is established by the cited sources, and actual runtime depends on factors such as screen settings, signal conditions, and workload.

Performance, memory, and storage
The cited specifications identify a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in TechRadar’s reviewed Edge 70 Fusion and a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G on TECNO’s Indonesia page for the POVA. Chip names alone are not enough to claim a performance winner: the available evidence here does not establish a head-to-head benchmark under comparable conditions.
TechRadar’s Motorola review configuration has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. TECNO lists 128 GB and 256 GB storage options for Indonesia, and describes physical RAM options separately from extended RAM. Extended or virtual RAM uses storage to supplement memory management; it is not the same as having that amount of additional physical RAM. Confirm the precise RAM and storage configuration in the local listing, since availability can vary by market.

Software and durability: verify the local model’s details
TechRadar lists Android 16 for its Edge 70 Fusion configuration. TECNO’s Indonesia page describes HiOS 16 based on Android 16 for the POVA 8 5G. The cited information does not establish a current, market-specific software-update commitment for a like-for-like comparison, so do not infer update longevity from the Android version alone.
Durability figures are also not directly interchangeable. TechRadar reports IP68/IP69 and military protection for its reviewed Motorola model; Android Central lists IP64 and MIL-STD-810H for its POVA review configuration. These are different ratings and standards, not a shared certification or a guarantee that either phone is impervious to damage. Consult the local model’s specifications and warranty terms for conditions and coverage.
Price difference: ₹250 in one India listing snapshot
At the India comparison listing captured by 91mobiles, the Edge 70 Fusion was shown at ₹29,749 and the POVA 8 5G at ₹29,999—a nominal ₹250 difference, with Motorola lower. These are volatile listing values, not official MSRPs or a universal price comparison. The page may aggregate configurations, so check the seller, stock, exact RAM/storage variant, and warranty before treating the difference as a real offer.
TechRadar reported launch prices of £379.99 and AU$499 for the Edge 70 Fusion, and said it was not on sale in the US at the time of its review. Those are review-era, market-specific figures rather than current global pricing. Motorola’s Japan store page states a planned release date of 2026-10-23; that date is in the future as of 2026-10-10, so it should not be read as a completed Japanese launch.
Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion if
- You prefer the reviewed AMOLED display and higher listed resolution.
- You want the added framing flexibility of a listed ultrawide rear camera.
- The exact regional Edge 70 Fusion configuration is available at a price and with service support that work for you.
Choose the TECNO POVA 8 5G if
- You prioritize its higher stated battery capacity over the Motorola’s faster listed wired charging.
- You value the rear Active Matrix display as a feature, not as an additional camera.
- Your local variant’s software, warranty, service, and network support meet your needs.
Check before buying
- Confirm the local model number, physical RAM, storage, and included software configuration.
- Verify supported 5G bands with your carrier; the cited sources do not establish a universal network-support comparison.
- Compare the seller’s current price, stock, warranty, and service availability rather than relying on the ₹250 snapshot.
