On paper, the Motorola Edge 60 Pro is the stronger phone: a higher-tier chipset, a sharper 1.5K display, a 3x optical telephoto camera, a 6,000mAh battery and 90W wired charging. The Moto G96 5G counters with a higher maximum refresh rate (up to 144Hz versus 120Hz) and a lower price tier. This comparison uses manufacturer-published specifications and India-market price listings. We have not tested either phone, so nothing below is a measured performance, camera or battery result.

Specifications side by side

The Edge 60 Pro column comes from Motorola India’s product page. The Moto G96 5G column comes from Motorola’s India support specification sheet, with camera details taken from a 91mobiles comparison page because the support sheet excerpt did not include them.

Category Motorola Edge 60 Pro Moto G96 5G What it means
Chipset MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme (4nm-class) Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 (4nm) The Edge uses the higher-tier processor on paper. No benchmark we can vouch for establishes the real-world gap.
Display 6.7-inch curved pOLED, 1.5K (1220p), 120Hz 6.67-inch curved pOLED, FHD+, up to 144Hz The Edge has more pixels. The G96 refreshes faster. Refresh rate says nothing about sharpness or overall panel quality.
Rear cameras 50MP main with OIS; 50MP ultrawide with macro; 10MP telephoto, 3x optical zoom, OIS 50MP main; 8MP ultrawide; no telephoto (per 91mobiles) Only the Edge has a dedicated zoom lens. Spec sheets do not show image quality.
Battery 6,000mAh 5,500mAh Larger stated capacity on the Edge. Actual endurance depends on the chipset, screen and usage.
Charging 90W wired, 15W wireless, 5W reverse wired 33W TurboPower wired The Edge charges faster and adds wireless charging. The G96 lists no wireless charging.
Memory and storage 8/256GB, 12/256GB and 16/512GB listed; UFS 4.0 8GB RAM; 128GB or 256GB Variants differ, so match the configuration before comparing prices.
Durability IP68 and IP69; MIL-STD-810H claimed by Motorola IP68 The Edge’s published ratings are higher. Ratings are not a guarantee against damage, and they do not extend warranty coverage.
Software 3 OS upgrades and 4 years of security patches listed Android 15 listed; update duration not stated in the support sheet Do not assume equal support. Check the G96’s update policy for India if longevity matters to you.
Connectivity and audio USB-C, USB 2.0; no memory card slot listed USB-C, USB 2.0; no memory card slot; stereo speakers; no 3.5mm jack; no NFC listed If you pay by tap, the G96’s missing NFC listing is a real concern. Confirm it for your variant.

According to 91mobiles, the Edge 60 Pro launched on 30 April 2025 and the Moto G96 5G on 16 July 2025. These are third-party dates.

Price difference in India

There is no single reliable price gap, because the listings we found do not describe the same moment, seller or storage variant. Treat the figures below as a dated snapshot, not current pricing.

  • Motorola India, Edge 60 Pro: ₹33,999 against a ₹40,999 MRP, shown as out of stock when the listing was indexed.
  • Motorola India, Moto G96 5G: ₹18,999 against a ₹20,999 MRP. Other indexed Motorola pages showed different promotional prices.
  • 91mobiles comparison page (Amazon prices when accessed): ₹30,190 for the Edge 60 Pro and ₹27,989 for the G96. That is a much smaller gap than the official listings suggest.

The official listings put the G96 roughly ₹15,000 below the Edge on list price, while the Amazon figures put it only about ₹2,200 below. Those two views cannot both describe an identical purchase. Before deciding, check the same RAM and storage configuration on the retailer you will actually use. Also check the seller, warranty terms, bank offers and stock. If the real gap is small, the Edge’s extra hardware is easy to justify. If it is around ₹15,000, the G96 becomes the value pick.

Which should you buy?

  • Choose the Edge 60 Pro if you want optical zoom, a sharper screen, fast and wireless charging, or the strongest published durability and update commitment, and the live price premium is acceptable.
  • Choose the Moto G96 5G if budget and a very smooth 144Hz screen matter most, and you can live without a telephoto lens and wireless charging. Verify NFC and update policy first.

Motorola describes the Edge 60 Pro as “built to withstand drops, harsh conditions, and the highest level of water and dust protection.” That is marketing language, not an independent durability test. Likewise, the battery endurance and Geekbench figures that 91mobiles shows are third-party numbers, not results we measured.
