Its 144Hz display also has a higher stated refresh rate than the Edge 50’s 120Hz. A dedicated telephoto camera
The Edge 50 Pro’s listed rear cameras include a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, alongside a 50MP main and 13MP ultrawide camera. Motorola’s cited Edge 50 specification page lists a 50MP main and 13MP ultrawide rear camera, without a dedicated telephoto lens. This is a difference in listed camera hardware, not evidence that one phone takes better photos overall.
Newer-numbered processor generation
The Pro lists a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, while the Edge 50 lists a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition. The processor names alone do not establish comparative speed or gaming performance; the cited material does not provide independent benchmarks.

Where the Edge 50 may make more sense
Larger stated battery capacity
The Edge 50 is listed with a 5000mAh battery, compared with 4500mAh in the Pro. That is a larger stated capacity, but battery life also depends on hardware, software and usage. Capacity alone cannot show which phone lasts longer in everyday use.
Lower displayed price
At the Motorola India prices observed, the Edge 50 was ₹8,000 below the displayed Edge 50 Pro price. If the Edge 50’s 120Hz display and 68W charging meet your needs, the lower displayed price may make it the more suitable choice. Check the current listing and stock rather than treating the observed difference as permanent.

Variants and box contents to check
Motorola India lists the Edge 50 Pro in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB configurations. Its included charger depends on the configuration: the 12GB/256GB variant is listed with a 125W charger, while the 8GB/256GB variant is listed with a 68W charger. The Pro page also lists a cable, case and protective film in the box. Verify the selected variant and its package details on the live product page. The cited Edge 50 support specifications establish its charging rate but do not state its package contents.
Which is better: Edge 50 or Edge 50 Pro?
- Choose the Edge 50 Pro if you value its higher listed charging rates, 144Hz refresh rate or dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera enough to pay the price difference.
- Choose the Edge 50 if the lower displayed Motorola India price and larger stated battery capacity matter more, and its 120Hz display and 68W wired charging are sufficient.
Both models are listed with IP68 protection and Android 14. The recommendation is based on manufacturer-published specifications and observed Motorola India prices, not hands-on testing of speed, endurance, charging time or image quality.
