The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion and CMF Phone 2 Pro make different trade-offs: Motorola’s cited India model has a faster 144Hz display, 68W charging, a lighter and narrower body, and a main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS). CMF’s phone adds a dedicated 2x optical telephoto camera, expandable storage, a slightly larger display, and an explicit software-support commitment. There is no reliable universal price difference without choosing a country and matching storage variants.

Which display is better for you?

Choose Motorola for the higher refresh rate

The Edge 50 Fusion lists a 144Hz refresh rate, compared with the CMF Phone 2 Pro’s adaptive rate of up to 120Hz. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion and scrolling look smoother, though how much you notice depends on what you do and your settings. Motorola lists up to 1,600 nits peak brightness.

Choose CMF for a slightly larger screen

CMF’s 6.77-inch display is marginally larger than Motorola’s 6.7-inch panel. Nothing lists 3,000 nits peak, 1,300 nits outdoor and 800 nits typical brightness. These are manufacturer specifications, and peak-brightness figures may use different measurement conditions; they do not by themselves establish which screen is brighter in every situation.

Camera choice: stabilised main camera or 2x optical zoom?

CMF has a dedicated telephoto camera

The CMF Phone 2 Pro includes a 50MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, plus a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. Its listed cameras use electronic image stabilisation (EIS). The telephoto lens gives you a separate optical-zoom option rather than relying only on cropping the main camera’s image.

Motorola’s main camera lists OIS

The cited secondary comparison lists the Edge 50 Fusion with a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 13MP ultrawide. OIS can help steady the main camera physically. The available specifications establish different camera hardware, not which phone takes better photos; that would require a controlled comparison across conditions. 91mobiles comparison · Nothing camera specifications

Charging and battery: Motorola charges faster on paper

Both cited models have a 5,000mAh battery, but their listed charging rates differ: Motorola specifies 68W TurboPower, while CMF specifies 33W wired charging and 5W reverse wired charging. That makes Motorola the faster-charging option by its stated wired rating. It does not prove which phone lasts longer: battery capacity is the same, but real endurance depends on use, and manufacturer battery-life claims use different methods.

Motorola claims over 30 hours of battery life. Nothing claims up to 22 hours of YouTube playback. Those figures are not directly comparable. In Tom’s Guide’s 2025 review, the CMF Phone 2 Pro lasted 15 hours 24 minutes in that publication’s dynamic-refresh battery benchmark; this is a result for that review’s test, not a head-to-head result against Motorola. Size, memory and storage

Motorola is narrower and lighter

The cited Motorola model weighs 174.9g and is 73.1mm wide; CMF lists 185g and 78mm. Motorola’s listed phone is 10.1g lighter and 4.9mm narrower. That may make it easier to hold or use one-handed, while the CMF’s larger display may suit buyers who prefer more screen space.

CMF offers storage expansion

The cited Motorola India model has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Nothing’s Europe page lists CMF configurations with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB storage, expandable by up to 2TB. Do not treat the RAM figures alone as a performance ranking: the phones use different processors, and memory capacity by itself does not determine overall speed.

Software support and regional checks

Nothing states that CMF Phone 2 Pro will receive three years of Android updates and six years of security patches, with the six-year period starting when the device first became available on Nothing.tech. Its listed software is Nothing OS 3.2 based on Android 15. The Motorola India specification page identifies Android 14 but does not state an equivalent support duration, so it does not establish how long that model will continue to receive updates.

Before ordering either phone, check the exact model sold in your country against your carrier’s network bands and VoLTE requirements. Motorola explicitly notes that specifications may vary by market; the cited Motorola page lists dual SIM with pSIM and eSIM. Nothing’s Europe page lists its supported bands and an IP54 rating. A third-party comparison reports IP68 for Motorola, but that is not confirmed by the cited official Motorola documentation for the intended regional model, so verify the local manufacturer specification rather than relying on that listing.

Is CMF Phone 2 Pro more expensive?

There is no dependable general price difference to quote without a country, current listings and matching storage configurations. Nothing’s Europe product page displays starting prices of €249 and €279 beside CMF configurations, but those figures do not provide a like-for-like comparison with Motorola: the cited Motorola specification is for India, and prices, variants and availability differ by market. Compare current local listings for the exact storage options before deciding which is better value. Nothing Europe product page

Which phone should you choose?

  • Pick Motorola Edge 50 Fusion if you value a 144Hz display, faster stated wired charging, a narrower and lighter body, or OIS on the main camera.
  • Pick CMF Phone 2 Pro if you want a dedicated 2x optical telephoto camera, expandable storage, a slightly larger display, or Nothing’s stated update and security-patch commitment.
  • Compare local offers before choosing on price. Use the same country and storage capacity, and confirm the precise regional model and carrier compatibility.

For additional context on CMF’s screen and performance testing, Tom’s Guide’s 2025 review measured a maximum display brightness of 1,179 nits and average Geekbench 6 scores of 1,016 single-core and 2,961 multi-core. Those are that publication’s measurements of CMF Phone 2 Pro, not manufacturer specifications or results from a head-to-head test against the Motorola. Tom’s Guide CMF Phone 2 Pro review
